SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The family of the victims of the deadly Kemp Lane fire that happened in Shreveport in April of 2025 has filed a lawsuit against the fire department and the city. The suit, filed March 6 by Artilious Saxton and Cleveland Saxton, the sons of one of the victims, says on April 6, 2025, when the deadly fire happened, Mildred Carter-Rawls, the mother of the plaintiffs, was with her young granddaughters at her home in the 2400 block of Kemp Lane when the house caught fire.
