Longtime Anderson County park to be torn down, new park to take its place

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Claxton Kids Palace Playground has stood in one place for roughly 25 years. It’s a playground that has meant so much to the community but at the end of 2025, it’s going to be torn down and a new playground will be opened up in a new spot. “We hate to see it go, if it does even go, we don’t know that, but it means a lot to this community and surrounding communities,” Chuck Chandler, a community member said.
