To ti moc přeju
O knize To ti moc přeju Strašná vlna veder.

Is makeup inherently unfeminist?
My daughter recently turned 13. She’s an awesome tiny feminist firebrand and wants to smash the patriarchy. Whenever she smashes things, though, I always have to pick them up and put them in the bin, so hopefully she won’t do much patriarchy-smashing in the house. Anyhow: she recently read an excellent YA (young adult) novel, You Could Be So Pretty by Holly Bourne, about how women and girls shouldn’t wear makeup.

My Month in Books: October 2019 | Hannah Heartss
Every time I have an amazing reading month, then next month always tends to be a little slower. I still read a lot of books but it's about half of what I would have usually read. This month I read some amazing books and none that I hated! My Ratings: 5*: 3 4*: 4 3*: 6 2*: 1 1*: 0 Favourite Books of the Month: - The Simple Wild - One Week 'Til Christmas - Would Like to Meet Do you ever read a book and you just can't stop thinking about the characters for weeks?
‘Every day girls are being forced to have degrading, violent sex their boyfriends have seen in porn’
“Most people aren’t able to do this job for more than two years.” It was a strange comment for an introductory training session, but it wasn’t an average first day of a new job. I was 27, living in Herne Hill and learning how to be an online sex and relationships advisor for young people on a salary of around £24,000 a year. “There’s no shame in quitting,” my trainer reassured me.

You Could Be So Pretty
In Belle and Joni's world there are two options for girls: One, follow the rules of the Doctrine: be a Pretty, apply your Mask, win admiration and attention, work hard to be crowned at the Ceremony. Be a Belle. Or two, fight the rules: be an Objectionable, leave your face bare, be sneered at or ignored, work hard to avoid the disgust in their eyes and hope to one day escape. Be a Joni. But maybe there is a third option... Change the rules. Reclaim your power. If you can... What would you choose?

Everything I’ve Learned About Sleep (Since My Baby Broke The Internet)
I’m almost too scared to type this in case I jinx it. But, for the last week, my baby has slept through. Yes, my insomniac baby, whose sleep was so bad my tweet about her went viral, now regularly SLEEPS THROUGH - my two new favourite words. Last night, I actually had a dream. I’d not had a dream for over nine months. So, what is this magic? I have not drugged my baby, or switched my baby. I didn’t even climb a mountain and sacrifice a small creature to God (though I was totally prepared to do that).
6 Feminist Books To Read This International Women's Day
Happy International Women’s Day! Today is important to me, not only to celebrate the amazing women and feminine people in my life, but to recognise just how important being a feminist is. Women’s rights have come such a long way, but we still have a long way to go until we can truly have equity and equality. So this Women’s Day, celebrate with me by picking up books written by, and about, amazing women.
‘My Baby Broke The Sleep Trainer’
For more parenting stories and (non judgemental) advice, check out @theJuggleUK on Instagram A panic attack at 3am on my bathmat was a sign that things couldn’t continue as they were. My baby woke as I transferred her into the cot, with more precision than Tom Cruise dangling from the ceiling in Mission Impossible. It was the fourth time she’d woken that night, and it had taken over an hour to get her to sleep.
'Alias Emma' Author on British Intelligence, the Spy Who Fooled Her and the Best Thriller She’s Read Lately
For author Ava Glass, inspiration for her new espionage thrillerdidn’t just come from Ian Fleming or shows like The Americans, it came from real life. Working as a consultant in British counter-terrorism put her right smack dab in the middle of intelligence agencies—and the spies who run them. “Most of my spies are completely invented,” says Glass. “But one spy did help to inspire Emma Makepeace, my main character.

My Top Five Favoruite female writers and characters in YA!
Hello my lovely bookworms, these days I seem to be writing loads of posts and then they stay in my drafts. This was meant to go out last week but Last week was International Women’s Day and it got me thinking and I really wanted to share some of my favourite female writers who create fierce female character we aspire to be or inspired by their character.

Book Review: Pretending by Holly Bourne

Author of the Month, Holly Bourne

How right we were! Holly Bourne has gone from strength to strength publishing a string of gripping, inspirational and life-affirming YA reads tackling topical teen issues, including peer pressure, toxic friendships, anxiety and sexual harassment.
the best new picture books and novels
This month's picture books range from the comic to the meditative. Swapna Haddow and Dapo Adeola's My Dad Is a Grizzly Bear (Macmillan) is a feast of sly visual jokes and loving fun poked at a hulking, hairy, silhouetted father, with bouncy interwoven repetition that makes it huge fun to read aloud. Grandad's Camper (Andersen) by Harry Woodgate, meanwhile, is a colour-flooded riot of memory. Grandad used to go everywhere with his husband in their beloved vintage camper van.

It Only Happens In The Movies (US Only) by: Holly Bourne Release Date: December 1st, 2020 Publisher: HMH Books About the Book From award-winning British author Holly Bourne comes a clever, deconstructed rom-com that proves that in real life “girl meets boy” doesn't always mean “happily ever after” . . . or does it?
