JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Days after Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens stepped down and pleaded guilty in a federal bribery case, a temporary appointment has been made to keep the office running. Judge Winston Kidd appointed Brad McCullouch, the office’s first assistant district attorney, to serve as attorney pro tempore, Latin for “for the time being,” while Gov. Tate Reeves makes a formal appointment. In a statement, McCullouch said his priority is keeping the office on track.
