Published on Jul 30 · Submitted by kaipeng on Jul 31 · Alaya Lab Abstract We present ShadowDancer, a novel approach to any-action, frame-level control of interactive video world models. The obstacle is representational: existing interfaces either encode an action loosely, leaving how it unfolds for the model to improvise, or encode it exactly through structured signals that serve one family and are hard to acquire, so precise control across diverse dynamics remains impractical.
Dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelic in the knee: a case report
Abstract Background: Dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica (DEH) is a rare congenital bone dysplasia characterized by overgrowth of the epiphyseal cartilage on one side, with its etiology remaining unclear. The condition predominantly affects weight-bearing joints of the lower limbs, typically presenting with localized pain due to a rapidly growing mass around the joint. In severe cases, symptoms such as limb length discrepancy and limb deformity may occur.
Biomechanical stability of five fixation techniques for pediatric distal radius metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction fractures: a finite element analysis
Abstract Pediatric distal radius metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction (DRMDJ) fractures represent a distinct and inherently unstable fracture pattern that frequently necessitates surgical intervention. The variability in current clinical management strategies, and there remains a paucity of biomechanical evidence to guide optimal fixation selection.
Lorentz skew scattering nonreciprocal magneto-transport
Abstract In materials with broken inversion symmetry, nonreciprocal magneto-transport manifests as a bilinear dependence of charge conductivity on electric and magnetic fields. This phenomenon is rooted in symmetry and electronic quantum geometry and is relevant for rectification and detection technologies. Experimental studies generally attribute nonreciprocal magneto-transport to Zeeman-driven mechanisms and exhibit quadratic scaling with conductivity.
BRD2 is a transcriptional coactivator of Smad3 in mediating TGF-β tumor suppressive responses
Abstract Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a multifunctional cytokine that regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. It is generally accepted that TGF-β induces cellular responses through Smad-dependent gene transcription. However, the underlying mechanisms that modulate the transcriptional activities of Smads are not yet fully understood.
Observation of giant nonlinear valley Hall effect
Abstract Valleytronic applications utilize the valley degree of freedom—that is, the location of a state’s wavefunction within the Brillouin zone—to store and process information. In this context, the valley Hall effect is important for reading and writing the valley state. So far, research on this effect has focused on its linear response to an applied current and has not considered nonlinear responses.
Cerebrospinal fluid and plasma metabolites in Parkinson’s disease: a Mendelian randomization study
Abstract Metabolites in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma have been implicated in Parkinson’s disease (PD), but their causal roles remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the causal relationships between specific CSF and plasma metabolites and PD risk, using Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis. We utilized MR with inverse-variance weighting (IVW) as the primary analytical method, supplemented by four additional MR models to validate robustness.
Giant magneto-cubic in-plane Hall effect in a nonmagnetic material
Abstract In-plane Hall effect triggered by an external magnetic field applied in the transport plane has attracted significant experimental attentions in recent few years. However, most experiments focus on magnetic materials, where the existence of magnetic ordering may complicate understanding the physics behind, and the relatively small signal magnitudes limit the application of the effect.
Epstein-Barr virus reactivation triggers selective IL-6/IL-10 axis inflammation and CD3 + CD8 + T-cell activation leading to severe leukopenia, hyperinflammatory shock, and myocardial injury: a case report
Abstract Reactivation of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can lead to life-threatening complications beyond hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). We report a case of severe EBV reactivation in a 24-year-old female. She had persistent high fever, severe leukopenia, hyperinflammatory shock, and myocardial injury, but lacked typical HLH features.
Clinical study of modular external fixator for distal humeral metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction fractures in children
1 Introduction Metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction (MDJ) fractures of the distal humerus in children, first defined by Professor Fayssoux in 2008 (1), refer to fractures occurring between the superior margin of the olecranon fossa and the proximal extent of metaphyseal widening of the distal humeral shaft (2, 3). These fractures account for approximately 3% of all supracondylar humeral fractures (1).

Reading Between the Lines: What Hotel Companies Do Not Say About Gender Equality Original
There is a troubling disconnect in the hotel industry between public commitments and meaningful action on gender equality. Nearly every major hospitality brand now publishes impressive-sounding policies on diversity and inclusion but the reality behind the glossy corporate reports tells a different story.
Incorporating the dynamic natures into prioritization of customer requirements
Abstract The co-evolution of products and customers introduces increasing uncertainty about customer requirements (CRs), posing challenges for businesses striving to meet constantly changing CRs. Prioritising CRs is essential for resource allocation during product design. However, existing studies often ignore the dynamic natures (DNs) of these requirements, risking short-lived products.

"Modulation of the Proteostasis Network Promotes Tumor Resistance to On" by Xiangdong Lv, Xuan Lu et al.
Abstract Despite substantial advances in targeting mutant KRAS, tumor resistance to KRAS inhibitors (KRASi) remains a major barrier to progress. Here, we report proteostasis reprogramming as a key convergence point of multiple KRASi-resistance mechanisms. Inactivation of oncogenic KRAS down-regulated both the heat shock response and the inositol-requiring enzyme 1α (IRE1α) branch of the unfolded protein response, causing severe proteostasis disturbances.

Low-frequency divergence of circular photomagnetic effect in topological semimetals
Novel fermions with relativistic linear dispersion can emerge as low-energy excitations in topological semimetal materials. Here, we show that the orbital moment contribution in the circular photomagnetic effect for these topological semimetals exhibit an unconventional ω−1 frequency scaling, leading to significantly enhanced response in the infrared window, which can be orders of magnitude larger than previous observations on conventional materials.

Heterodimensional Kondo superlattices with strong anisotropy - Nature Communications
Abstract Localized magnetic moments in non-magnetic materials, by interacting with the itinerary electrons, can profoundly change the metallic properties, developing various correlated phenomena such as the Kondo effect, heavy fermion, and unconventional superconductivity. In most Kondo systems, the localized moments are introduced through magnetic impurities. However, the intrinsic magnetic properties of materials can also be modulated by the dimensionality.
Protein phosphatase SCP4 regulates cartilage development and endochondral osteogenesis via FoxO3a dephosphorylation
1 INTRODUCTION Endochondral osteogenesis represents a pivotal mode of bone development and is instrumental in the formation of the majority of long bones in the extremities and spine.1, 2 During embryonic limb development, mesenchymal progenitor cells are regulated by a series of factors to transition into mature chondrocytes.3 These maturing chondrocytes become organised into distinct zones within the epiphyseal growth plate—namely, a resting zone (RZ), a proliferating zone (PZ) and a...

Preparation of a long-term mildew resistant and strong soy protein adhesive via constructing multiple crosslinking networks
In recent years, the wood-based panel industry has experienced rapid growth. However, formaldehyde-based adhesives remain the predominant adhesive used in the production of wood-based panel, comprising over 90 % of total usage [1]. These adhesives continuously release harmful substances such as formaldehyde (in the form of unreacted residues), posing a hazard to human health [2], [3].
Ideal spin-polarized Weyl half-semimetal with a single pair of Weyl points in the half-Heusler compounds $X\mathrm{CrTe}$ ($X=\mathrm{K}$, Rb)
Realizing ideal Weyl semimetal state with a single pair of Weyl points has been a long-sought goal in the field of topological semimetals. Here, we reveal such a state in the Cr-based half-Heusler compounds XCrTe (X=K, Rb). We show that these materials have a half-metal ground state, with the Fermi level crossing only one spin channel.

Identifying the Depreciation Rate of Durables from Marginal Spending Responses
1.3 How general are these results? Models of durable goods typically include additional components. We discuss three such extensions here. First, durable goods are typically indivisible. For example, cars are considered to be lumpy since households cannot buy an infinitesimal share in a car. We assume that composite durable goods can be bought incrementally.
Lifetime cumulative effect of reproductive factors on ischaemic heart disease in a prospective cohort
Discussion This study found that longer RLS (≥36 years), EEE (≥23.5 years) and TEE (≥35.3 years) were associated with a lower risk of IHD, supporting the hypothesis that higher lifetime cumulative oestrogen levels may indicate a lower risk of IHD among postmenopausal females.

Principle of learning sign rules by neural networks in qubit lattice models
A neural network is a powerful tool that can uncover hidden laws beyond human intuition. However, it often appears as a black box due to its complicated nonlinear structures. By drawing upon the Gutzwiller mean-field theory, we can showcase a principle of sign rules for ordered states in qubit lattice models. We introduce a shallow feed-forward neural network with a single hidden neuron to present these sign rules.
