Deep learning CT signature for predicting early liver metastases in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Abstract Accurately predicting the risk of early liver metastases (ELM) and identifying patients who are most likely to benefit from neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) are critical for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Here, we develop a Mamba-based predictive model that integrates imaging features from both the primary pancreatic tumor and the liver to assess the risk of ELM.
Serine starvation induced APOE expression through promoting RXRB lactylation in tumor-associated macrophages
Abstract The roles of exogenous and endogenous serine in development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) have not been explored. PSAT1 was overexpressed in NPC tumor tissues. RNA-seq and ELISA assays revealed that PSAT1 knockdown eliminated APOE upregulation upon serine/glycine starvation. Combining PSAT1 knockdown with exogenous serine/glycine removal maximally suppressed proliferation, migration, and invasion of NPC cells.
HE-referenced eosinophil assessment and cutoff estimation using Congo red and Chromotrope 2R staining in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps
Abstract This cross-sectional histopathological study aimed to compare eosinophil visualization and quantification using Congo red, Chromotrope 2R, and conventional hematoxylin–eosin (HE) staining in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), and to explore HE-referenced eosinophil-count cutoff estimates for Congo red and Chromotrope 2R staining in relation to conventional HE-based classification of eosinophilic CRSwNP (eCRSwNP).
Immunogenicity, efficacy, and safety of different dose schedules of human papillomavirus vaccines: a Bayesian network meta–analysis of randomized controlled trials
Abstract Background: To enhance global vaccine coverage and reduce costs, Human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization schedules are shifting from the standard three–dose (3D) regimen toward reduced–dose (1D or 2D) schedules. We aimed to evaluate the comparative immunogenicity, efficacy, and safety of diverse dose schedules and vaccine types using a Bayesian network meta–analysis.
Autonomous bladder training for neurogenic bladder: a randomized controlled trial.
Neurogenic bladder causes impaired bladder emptying, urinary complications, and reduced quality of life. This trial evaluated whether structured multimodal autonomous bladder training improves bladder function in patients with neurogenic bladder. In this single-centre randomized controlled trial, 168 adults were assigned 1:1 to autonomous bladder training plus routine rehabilitation care or routine care alone.
NLRP3 participates in IL-17 A-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in human nasal epithelial cells of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps
Abstract Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) can occur in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), and various cytokines are known to promote EMT profiles. However, the specific relationship between interleukin (IL)-17 A and EMT in human nasal epithelial cells (hNECs) has not been previously clarified, highlighting a gap in understanding the mechanisms driving CRSwNP pathogenesis.

Spliceosomal mutation drives melanoma tumorigenesis via lineage-specific RAS activation
|
Abstract Mutations in splicing factors are recurrent across human cancers and drive widespread RNA splicing dysregulation. Among these, SF3B1 is the most frequently mutated, yet its hotspot mutations exhibit lineage specificity, with SF3B1R625 mutations predominantly found in melanoma and SF3B1K700E in hematologic malignancies. However, the mechanistic basis for this cancer-type specificity remains unclear.

ITPR3 promotes liver fibrosis by damaging hepatocytes via the Ca2+/NF-B/LECT2 pathway
Abstract Hepatocyte damage is the initial factor in liver injury. De novo expression of inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor type 3 (ITPR3) typically occurs in hepatocellular carcinoma and may contribute to its pathogenesis. However, the role of de novo expression of ITPR3 by hepatocytes in the pathological processes of liver fibrosis remains unclear.
Determinants of Chinese individuals’ clothing-recycling intentions: a dual-logic analysis integrating TPB, NAM, and perceived convenience (PLS-SEM and NCA) | Humanities and Social Sciences Communications
Abstract The fast-fashion industry’s rapid growth has exacerbated global environmental crises, including resource depletion and pollution, with over 30 million tons of clothing discarded annually and less than 5% recycled. In China, the world’s largest clothing producer and consumer, annual textile waste exceeds 20 million tons, yet public participation in recycling remains low due to insufficient understanding of motivational factors.

VETCOP: A New Tool for Understanding Pet Owner Topical Steroid Treatment Phobias in the Treatment of Canine Atopic Dermatitis: A Study From China and Singapore - Han - Veterinary Dermatology - Wiley Online Library
Background Topical corticosteroids (TCS) phobia refers to the negative feelings and beliefs related to TCS. TCS phobia may lead to a lack of adherence to therapy and treatment failure in patients diagnosed with atopic dermatitis. Objectives To quantify TCS phobia amongst pet owners of dogs diagnosed with canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) with the hypothesis that there is no TCS phobia.

Noncatalytic telomerase function in inflammation - Nature Cell Biology
Whether the telomerase protein TERT has moonlighting functions by acting catalytically in telomere elongation and non-catalytically in extratelomeric functions has long been debated. A study now demonstrates that TERT can regulate physiological levels of inflammatory signals independently of its catalytic functions. Enjoying our latest content?
Spillover effects of migration: evidence from the mental health of non-left-behind children
This article examines the causal spillover effects of village migration on non-left-behind children’s mental health outcomes. Our results suggest that the proportion of village migration has negative effects on boys’ mental health, while the effects among girls are not significant. This suggests that policies aimed at left-behind children can be extended to all children in rural China, especially the neglected group of non-left-behind children.

Hamiltonian learning for 300 trapped ion qubits with long-range couplings
Abstract Quantum simulators with hundreds of qubits and engineerable Hamiltonians have the potential to explore quantum many-body models that are intractable for classical computers. However, learning the simulated Hamiltonian, a prerequisite for any quantitative applications of a quantum simulator, remains an outstanding challenge due to the fast increasing time cost with the qubit number and the lack of high-fidelity universal gate operations in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum era.
