Multicentre benchmark of PSMA PET/CT and mpMRI fusion for non-invasive clinically significant prostate cancer diagnosis
Abstract Clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) guides-biopsy and treatment decisions, yet its non-invasive diagnosis remains challenging. The incremental value of PSMA PET/CT beyond multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), and the optimal strategy for multimodal fusion, remain unclear.
Bispecific dual T cell agonist invikafusp alfa in solid tumors: the phase 1/2 START-001 trial
|
Abstract Invikafusp alfa (invika), a first-in-class, bispecific, dual T cell agonistic antibody selectively targeting Vβ6/Vβ10 T cell subsets, is being evaluated in START-001, a multicenter phase 1/2 monotherapy trial in participants with mostly immune checkpoint blockade (ICB)-resistant, antigen-rich solid tumors. Primary outcomes were safety/tolerability and recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) in phase 1 and anti-tumor activity in phase 2.

ALPaCA: Adapting Llama for Pathology Context Analysis to enable slide-level question answering
Abstract Large Vision Language Models (LVLMs) are increasingly used in computational pathology for image classification, description generation, question answering and interactive diagnostics. However, most pathology LVLMs analyse small regions of interest rather than pyramidal, gigapixel-scale whole-slide images (WSIs), limiting their use for tasks requiring whole-slide assessment across sub-regions and magnification levels.
Networks in plant nitrate foraging: From model plants to crop improvement
INTRODUCTION In both natural and agricultural ecosystems, soil nutrients are unevenly distributed and often show a patchy pattern (Zhang and Forde, 1998; Remans et al., 2006a). To cope with this spatial heterogeneity, plants have evolved adaptive mechanisms that integrate systemic foraging signals with local nutrient responses to guide root growth and development.
Deep-learning-enabled multi-omics analyses for prediction of future metastasis in cancer
Abstract Metastasis remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality, yet predicting future metastasis is a major clinical challenge due to the lack of validated biomarkers and effective assessment methods. Here, we present EmitGCL, a deep-learning framework that accurately predicts future metastasis and its corresponding biomarkers.
Robust \({\text{Z}}_{{{\text{eff}}}}\) -mapping in composites via joint beam-hardening and detector-response correction
Abstract Quantitative effective atomic number (\(Z_{eff}\)) inversion in energy-resolved X-ray projection imaging is affected by beam hardening and detector-response-induced spectral distortion. In this study, we propose a joint beam-hardening and detector-response correction framework for thickness-decoupled \(Z_{eff}\) inversion.
Revalidation of Manis aurita based on integrative genomic and morphological evidence
Abstract Pangolins face severe conservation threats globally, necessitating accurate taxonomy for effective conservation. Previous genomic research on the Chinese pangolin (Manis pentadactyla) identified two deeply divergent lineages (MPA and MPB), suggesting underestimated species diversity. The recent description of M. indoburmanica (corresponding to MPB), however, did not assess its relationship with historical names, particularly the subspecies M. p.
Tetrahedral DNA nano-PROTACs enable enhanced ocular penetration and efficient nucleolin degradation for choroidal neovascularization therapy
Abstract Despite the paradigm shift brought about by anti-VEGF therapy against neovascular age-related macular degeneration, significant challenges persist, including the risk of intraocular infection and retinal structural damage caused by frequent intravitreal injections, suboptimal long-term outcomes in some patients, as well as economic and psychological burdens. Attempts to identify novel therapeutic targets with more compliant drug delivery strategies are warranted.
Unraveling hidden species diversity of talpid moles using phylogenomics and skull-based deep learning
|
Abstract The sky islands of Southwest China are biodiversity hotspots, where geographic isolation has led to allopatric diversification and cryptic speciation. Here, we integrated phylogenomics, molecular species delimitation, and morphometric analyses to assess the phylogenetic and morphological diversity of the small mammal family of talpid moles.

Trump‑Xi summit: 3 ways the US and China can compete without going to war
US President Donald Trump’s visit to Beijing this week may ease tensions at the margins of the US–China rivalry. But it will not change a central fact: neither side can escape the rivalry, and neither side can decisively win it. The biggest challenge for Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping is whether they can compete without turning the world’s most consequential bilateral relationship into its most dangerous one. A war is not inevitable.

The Upside of U.S.-Chinese Strategic Competition: Institutional Balancing and Order Transition in the Asia Pacific
The political scientists He and Feng offer a counterintuitive and refreshingly optimistic argument about competition between China and the United States. They insist that the two rivals are not destined for military conflict, thanks to the abiding strength of nuclear deterrence and the constraints of economic interdependence, and because the competition between them occurs primarily through institutions.

A Promising Point‐of‐Care Testing Strategy: Ultrasmooth Gold Nanogroove Arrays Biosensor Combined with Initial Rate Analysis
1 Introduction Plasmonic biosensors are extensively used in medical diagnosis, food safety regulation, and environmental monitoring.[1-4] Thanks to the subwavelength light confinement and enhancement near the metallic surface, surface plasmon resonances (SPRs) can generate remarkable optical responses to the minuscule changes of local refractive index (RI) near the sensor surface induced by the biomolecular binding events.[5-8] The molecular interactions occurring on the sensor surface can be...
Conformally coated scaffold design using water-tolerant Pr1.8Ba0.2NiO4.1 for protonic ceramic electrochemical cells with 5,000-h electrolysis stability | Nature Energy
Abstract Protonic ceramic electrochemical cells (PCECs) have potential as long-duration energy storage systems. However, their operational stability is limited under industrially relevant conditions due to the intrinsic chemical instability of doped barium cerate-based electrolytes and oxygen electrodes against H2O, as well as the poor electrode–electrolyte interfacial contact. Here we present a conformally coated scaffold (CCS) design to comprehensively address these issues.
US-China competition has productive potential for the Indo-Pacific
The rise and fall of great powers is a recurring theme throughout the history of global politics. The contours of the US–China strategic rivalry fit neatly into this pattern. Besides heightened military competition, Beijing and Washington are also engaged in intense institutional competition in the form of institutional balancing. Both seek to shape, join or build international institutions to project influence and constrain each other.

The heterotrophic nitrification pathways of HNB are distinctly unique, manifested in multiple aspects.
US-China Tariff War Deepens: Global Fallout Looms
As the US and China impose punishing tariffs on each other, the repercussions are rippling far beyond their borders. It is explored how this high-stakes standoff is accelerating economic decoupling, straining multilateral trade systems, and heightening regional tensions — especially around Taiwan.
The global costs of the US-China tariff war are mounting. And the worst may be yet to come
The United States and China remain in a standoff in their tariff war. Neither side appears willing to budge. After US President Donald Trump imposed massive 145% tariffs on Chinese imports in early April, China retaliated with its own tariffs of 125% on US goods. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this week it’s up to China to de-escalate tensions. China’s Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, said the two sides are not talking.
