CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Thousands of soccer fans packed downtown Cleveland before kickoff of an international match between Brazil and Egypt, a Road to 26 Friendlies game. Brazil fans yelled the teams signature chant “Olay, olay, olay, olay” as energy built hours before the game. Egypt fans were outnumbered but made their presence known. Fans of Brazil and Egypt get ready for the Road to 26 soccer game in Cleveland. Ikeena Eze takes in Road to 26 game in Cleveland from Mall C.

Shaker Square building repeated vandalism prompts reward offer

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A Shaker Square building has been vandalized repeatedly, with the most recent attack causing more than $20,000 in damage. Security video from SEIU 1199 on May 16 shows four people appearing to be teenagers throwing rocks and smashing windows at the building. SEIU 1199 has occupied the building since 2019 and says it has dealt with a pattern of property crime since moving in.

Man arrested for Akron grocery store fire

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - U.S. Marshals arrested the man accused of intentionally setting fire to Roush’s Market early Saturday morning, leaving an Akron neighborhood without its only grocery store. According to a release from U.S. Marshals, Manuel Eliezer Ramirez-Molina, 36, was arrested on Monday for arson. Man arrested for Akron grocery store fire Akron Fire Department crews were dispatched at approximately 6:04 a.m. on Saturday to 554 W. Thornton St. for reports of heavy black smoke in the area.
