As several wildfires burn across Colorado, one non-profit’s evacuation tool is back in the spotlight as they attempt to bring assistance to people who may need help evacuating their animals. Denver7 shared the resource, HorseAlert, in 2024, when the website first launched and was put to use during the Stone Canyon and Alexander Mountain fires. Those behind the website describe it as an “Uber” for equine animals including horses, donkeys and mules.

Over a thousand people sign online petition to save dog park in Broadway Park area

DENVER — More than 1,000 people have signed a petition to ‘Save Broadway Bark’, a dog park located on Dakota and Cherokee Street in the Broadway Park area. The call to action comes after a change in state law concerning tax exemptions that the park's owners say could force it to close. HB25-1289, passed in 2025, requires property tax exemption to be reviewed if there is a conflict of interest between property owners and the special district board of directors.
