Since 2013, she has represented New York's 7th Congressional District, which covers parts of northern Brooklyn and western Queens. Velazquez has endorsed Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, but Mayor Zohran Mamdani has endorsed Democratic Socialist and New York Assemblywoman Claire Valdez. In this episode of "Up Close," we'll talk about a new era in city government. After unveiling a budget of more than $124 billion, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the city's fiscal crisis is over. He was able to close the $5.5 billion budget deficit with help from the state, but some are worried about long-term budget deficits for the city. We'll talk to New York City's First Deputy Mayor Dean Fuleihan. We'll also discuss hantavirus and measles, as concerns are rising for both.
