In a statement on Facebook, the university shared a message in support of the LGBTQ community. “In keeping with Notre Dame’s Spirit of Inclusion and in light of Pope Leo XIV’s call for a Church that ‘strives to be close’ to our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, we embrace our LGBTQ students, faculty, staff, and alumni,” the university wrote in the caption.
