In a statement on Facebook, the university shared a message in support of the LGBTQ community. “In keeping with Notre Dame’s Spirit of Inclusion and in light of Pope Leo XIV’s call for a Church that ‘strives to be close’ to our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, we embrace our LGBTQ students, faculty, staff, and alumni,” the university wrote in the caption.

Gov. Mike Braun extends Indiana gas tax relief for a second time

Skip to content INDIANA (WNDU) - Governor Mike Braun is extending Indiana’s gas tax suspension for a second time, delivering what he called the “cheapest gas in the county.” The current extension is set to expire on June 7. Now, the tax will continue to be suspended at least through July 7. Braun said that suspending the Gasoline Usage Tax and the Gasoline Excise Tax is saving Hoosiers more than $0.62 per gallon. Gas tax relief was first announced on April 8.

Outside probe finds sexual abuse by former Notre Dame employees; university announces reforms

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - An outside investigation into a former Notre Dame employee found instances of sexual abuse, according to a news release from the university. The investigation looked at allegations of sexual abuse against Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C, a former Zahm Hall rector. Notre Dame said the investigation also found instances of sexual abuse by Rev. David Porterfield, C.S.C. King worked at Notre Dame from 1980-1997 and also taught at Holy Cross College.
