Filtering Out vs. Looking Away? Proactive and Reactive Online Information Avoidance in the Face of Health Misinformation
ABSTRACT Online information avoidance (OIA) has become a prominent issue, yet scholarship often treats it as a monolithic construct, overlooking the distinction between proactive (e.g., blocking) and reactive (e.g., scrolling past) behaviors. This study examined the causal impact of misinformation exposure on these two distinct avoidance strategies and investigated the moderating role of information-verifying efficacy (IVE).
Relationship between homocysteine levels and carotid plaque burden in patients with diabetes: the mediating role of inflammation
Abstract Diabetic patients are more likely to develop carotid plaque (CP). However, whether homocysteine (Hcy) levels are associated with plaque occurrence in this population remains unconfirmed. This study aimed to investigate the association between Hcy levels and CP (including single and multiple plaques) in diabetic patients and to explore the mediating role of inflammation. This multicenter cross-sectional study enrolled 5414 diabetic patients from four medical centers.

The peptidoglycan-binding domain regulates antimycobacterial activity of LysB by affecting its transportation and/or catalytic activity
Abstract Mycobacteriophages-derived lysis proteins such as LysB are promising antibiotic alternatives to counter drug-resistant pathogenic mycobacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria. Previous work has correlated the antimycobacterial activity of LysB with its peptidoglycan-binding domain (PGBD) in the N-terminal domain (NTD), but underlying mechanistic is lacking.
Phytochrome B sets condensate number through graded nucleator states and seeding-site efficacy
Abstract Photobodies (PBs) are phytochrome B (phyB)-organized nuclear condensates that nucleate at defined subnuclear seeding sites and decrease in number with warming. How cells set PB number—and, more broadly, condensate number—remains poorly understood. Here we show that phyB’s output module (OPM) functions as a universal nucleator for all site-defined PB types, whereas the photosensory module (PSM) attenuates this activity, enabling environmental control.

Oligomerization-competent PIF4 drives thermomorphogenesis through functional redundancy in transactivation and DNA binding
Abstract Plants tailor their architecture to warm temperatures through the central transcription factor PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR 4 (PIF4). Here, we dissect how structured and disordered regions of PIF4 contribute to its function in thermomorphogenesis. A long N-terminal intrinsically disordered region (IDR) enables PIF4 to form low-mobility condensates.
