Police say a boat carrying 10 people capsized amid the powerful and fast-moving storm. Six adults and one child were rescued.

MILWAUKEE — A car crashed into two beauty salons on W. Historic Mitchell Street near S. 10th Street early Wednesday morning, leaving behind significant damage and renewing concerns about reckless driving in the area. Milwaukee police say the crash happened at approximately 2:35 a.m. The 30-year-old driver was traveling westbound on W. Historic Mitchell Street at a high rate of speed when they lost control and struck the building. The driver sustained possible injuries but was not transported.

'Families devastated as fire heavily damages Lincoln Avenue School

MILWAUKEE — A five-alarm fire tore through Lincoln Avenue School on Milwaukee's south side Tuesday, heavily damaging the more than 100-year-old building and leaving families uncertain about what comes next. Firefighters battle fire at Lincoln Avenue School More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze from early Tuesday morning well into the afternoon, knocking out power in the neighborhood for a short time. No injuries were reported. No cause has been determined at this time.
