Evaluation of aspirin effects on zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos at clinically relevant plasma concentrations: a multi-omics approach
Abstract Aspirin is a widely used clinical medication during pregnancy that can pass through the placental barrier. While high-dose animal studies have linked aspirin to developmental toxicities like neural tube defects and other structural abnormalities, its effects across a broader clinical concentration spectrum remain unclear. In this study, we evaluated the concentration-dependent toxicity of aspirin during zebrafish embryonic and larval development.

Resilience of blue carbon microbiomes in response to ecological and anthropogenic filtering
Abstract Global change is threatening the microbial consortia that sustain the services and functions of blue carbon ecosystems (BCEs), but little is known about how the composition and functioning of these consortia will respond to ecological and anthropogenic stressors. Here, we construct a continental-scale microbial genome catalog from 116 representative habitats, including mangrove forests, saltmarshes, and seagrass meadows, and recover 1954 non-redundant metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs).
Giant bulk photovoltaic effect driven by interfacial symmetry breaking in MoS 2 /Ta 2 NiSe 5 heterostructures
Abstract Van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures offer a versatile platform for engineering unconventional bulk photovoltaic (BPV) effect through interfacial symmetry breaking. However, the coexistence of multiple photophysical mechanisms, driven by structural complexity, spontaneous charge transfer, and strong interlayer coupling, often obscures the microscopic origin of the BPV response and hinders its rational optimization.

Combining AI interpretation of cholangiograms and clinical data for postoperative risk stratification after ERCP in cholodocholithiasis
Abstract Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is the standard treatment for choledocholithiasis, yet postoperative risk stratification remains challenging. We aimed to develop an interpretable artificial intelligence (AI) framework that integrates cholangiographic imaging and clinical data to support postoperative risk stratification after ERCP-guided stone extraction.
Distortion-engineered C 1 -symmetric inorganic molecular cages enable tunable chiroptical nonlinear optics with broad infrared transparency
Abstract Chiroptical materials combining chirality with second-harmonic generation are attractive for polarization-resolved photonics, yet examples integrating strong chiroptical nonlinear activity, broad infrared transparency and inorganic robustness remain limited. Here we report a purely inorganic strategy in which molecular-level geometric distortion of intrinsically C1-symmetric phosphorus–chalcogen cages tunes second-harmonic generation circular dichroism (SHG-CD).

CD300ld on pathologically activated neutrophils promotes tumor immune suppression by binding phosphatidylserine on CD8 + T cells
Abstract The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment remains a major obstacle to successful immunotherapy. Pathologically activated neutrophils, alternatively termed polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs), drive tumor immune evasion primarily by inducing CD8+ T cell tolerance. While direct intercellular contact between neutrophils and CD8+ T cells is essential for immunosuppressive activity, the mechanisms mediating this interaction need deeper understanding.
Electrostatic Self-Assembly Induced Nest-Like MXene Networks on Fabric for Ultra-Broadband Flexible Absorption
1 Introduction With the rapid development of new-generation information technologies, electronic devices are evolving toward higher frequencies and greater integration [1-3]. In particular, in cutting-edge applications such as wireless communications, radar detection, and radio astronomy, operating frequencies have rapidly expanded from the microwave to the millimeter-wave and terahertz (THz) bands [4-6].
Tumor-derived branched-chain α-keto acids activate Notch signaling in tumor-associated macrophages to limit immunity
Abstract Tumor cells are highly dependent on branched-chain amino acids, which can activate mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1, but the downstream catabolite branched-chain α-keto acids (BCKAs) are not well studied in this context. Here, using clinical samples and genetically engineered mouse tumor models, we showed that tumor-derived BCKAs are secreted actively into the tumor microenvironment (TME) where they reprogram tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) to promote tumor progression.
Repurposing trifluoromethyl copper (III) complexes for difluoromethylation of saccharides and complex alcohols
Abstract Grushin’s reagent, (bpy)Cu(CF3)3, is a well-known trifluoromethylation agent, but its potential as a difluorocarbene source has remained largely unexplored. Here, we present a photo- and acid-mediated strategy that repurposes Grushin’s reagent as an efficient difluorocarbene precursor for the difluoromethylation of diverse alcohols, including complex primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols bearing multiple polar functional groups.
Global hotspots of particulate organic carbon losses under climate change
|
Abstract Soil organic carbon (SOC) comprises particulate (POC) and mineral-associated organic carbon (MAOC), which differ in formation, stabilization, and loss mechanisms. While the current global distribution of POC and MAOC is characterized, their vulnerability under future climate scenarios remains unclear.

Dual function of DOT1L suppresses tumor cell-intrinsic immunogenicity in hepatocellular carcinoma
Abstract Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy for many cancers remains limited in patients’ overall response rate. Discovery and development of more effective combinatorial approaches is urgent. Here, through CRISPR/Cas9 genetic screens, we identify DOT1L as a versatile epigenetic factor that functions to suppress tumor-intrinsic immunity through a dual mechanism.
Structural insight into IscB’s RNA-lid-based inactivation mechanism
Abstract IscB, a compact Cas9 ancestor from the obligate mobile element guided activity system, has attracted growing interest as a programmable genome editor because of its small size and therapeutic delivery potential. Despite its promise, structural insights into IscB’s regulation remain limited, with only a target-bound R-loop structure previously reported. Here, we present the structural trajectory of an engineered IscB, capturing its transition from a resting state to activation.
Flexible rubber with metal-like thermal conductivity achieved via hydrogen bonding engineering
Abstract The ideal electronics packaging for next-generation wearable devices and integrated circuits would be a flexible material with high thermal conductivity of a metal. We report a liquid-metal polyurethane composite (LiMPuC) with a thermal conductivity of 23.42 W m-1 K-1 while retaining extreme stretchability. The performance arises from interfacial-chemistry-guided ordering of the polyurethane matrix and improved liquid-metal wetting.
Electroacupuncture Attenuates Colitis in Mice Through Activation of Vagus Cholinergic Antiinflammatory Pathways

Objective This study aimed to examine the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at “Shangjuxu” (ST37) on murine colitis and the involvement of the cholinergic vagus system. Methods Mice were divided into control, model, EA (electro-acupuncture), and MLA (EA with α7nAChR antagonist) groups.
Amphotericin B promotes respiratory viral entry by enhancing late endosomal maturation and fusion via glucocerebrosidase-mediated ceramide remodeling - Nature Communications
|
Abstract Respiratory viral infections, such as influenza and COVID-19, pose significant global health challenges. For patients with invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, a subsequent viral infection can lead to markedly worse clinical outcomes. Although amphotericin B (AmB) remains a cornerstone antifungal therapy, our investigation demonstrates that it paradoxically enhances the entry of influenza A virus and SARS-CoV-2.

Association between the triglyceride-glucose index and disease severity in non-diabetic Parkinson’s disease patients
Abstract Background: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is a well-established biomarker of insulin resistance (IR) in non-diabetic populations, serving as a reliable indicator of metabolic health across diverse demographic groups. However, to date, few studies have explored the association between IR—as measured by the TyG index and disease severity in non-diabetic patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD).

Novel cancer subtyping method guided by tumor-normal sample in latent space of transcriptomic variational autoencoder - Scientific Reports
Abstract Tumorigenesis is a microevolutionary process in which heterogeneous tumor cells adapt within a complex microenvironment. Current tumor omics analyses often focus exclusively on tumor samples, overlooking the valuable insights that normal tissues can provide. To address this gap, we introduce VaDTN (Variational Autoencoder–Derived Tumor-to-Normal), a pan-cancer framework that integrates transcriptomic data from both tumor and normal samples into a unified latent space.

A Method for Constructing a Synthesis Health Index for Metro Vehicle Wheelsets
1. Introduction As urbanization rapidly progresses in China, subways, a vital part of modern urban rail transit, are expanding in both scale and operational mileage. The components of metro vehicles directly influence the safety, reliability, and comfort of train operations. Among these components, wheelsets play a critical role as they support the train’s weight and guide its movement.
Removal of dissolved organic carbon in the West Pacific hadal zones - Nature Communications
Abstract The deep oceans are environments of complex carbon dynamics that have the potential to significantly impact the global carbon cycle. However, the role of hadal zones, particularly hadal trenches (water depth > 6 km), in the oceanic dissolved organic carbon (DOC) cycle is not thoroughly investigated. Here we report distinct DOC signatures in the Japan Trench bottom water.
