High-efficiency slow-light modulator on thin-film lithium tantalate operating at high optical power
Integrated electro-optic (EO) modulators are essential interfaces between electrical and optical signals, but maintaining high modulation efficiency and broadband EO response under high optical power remains challenging. Here, we demonstrate a thin-film lithium tantalate (TFLT) Mach–Zehnder modulator combining 1-mm-long one-dimensional topological slow-light waveguides with capacitively loaded T-shaped traveling-wave electrodes.
Symptom clusters and symptom network characteristics in chronic fatigue syndrome patients: a cross-sectional study
Abstract Background: Chronic fatigue syndrome is characterized by multiple co-occurring physical, cognitive, sleep, and emotional symptoms. Traditional symptom cluster analysis identifies patterns of symptom co-occurrence but does not clarify the relative importance of individual symptoms or the connections between symptom clusters. Symptom network analysis may complement this approach by identifying core and bridge symptoms.
PMN-PT nanocrystal composite optical fibers with enhanced nonlinear response
Ferroelectric crystal materials constructed into one-dimensional optical fibers are attractive for optoelectronic applications. However, the development of ferroelectric optical fibers has been constrained by fabrication challenges, particularly the integration of a high-refractive-index ferroelectric crystal core with a low-refractive-index glass cladding.

DR-GEM enables self-supervised machine learning for single-cell embeddings and annotations
Abstract Dimensionality reduction and clustering are instrumental to single-cell and spatial genomics data analysis. Here we show that existing methods tend to fit oversampled classes and miss more unique signals and patterns, such as rare cell types and states. We find that the problem in such cases is not primarily data scarcity per se, but the model equating abundance with importance.

Case Report: Neonatal-onset parkinsonian-pyramidal syndrome caused by novel compound heterozygous FBXO7 variants
Abstract Background: Early-onset parkinsonism is often associated with genetic factors. Pathogenic variants in the FBXO7 gene are a rare cause of early-onset parkinsonism, typically presenting as parkinsonian-pyramidal syndrome (PPS), also known as Parkinson's disease-15 (PARK15). To date, only three cases of infantile-onset PARK15 have been reported worldwide. Herein, we describe a Chinese patient with neonatal-onset PARK15, who carried novel compound heterozygous FBXO7 variants.

Effects of unilateral versus bilateral training on linear sprint and change-of-direction performance in athletes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Unilateral training may enhance sprint and change-of-direction (COD) performance in athletes, but existing evidence is inconclusive. Methods: We searched CNKI, PubMed, Web of Science, and EBSCO up to 1 September 2025 for randomized controlled trials comparing unilateral versus bilateral training in athletes and reporting speed-related outcomes. Methodological quality was assessed with PEDro.

Small interfering RNA-mediated silencing of mutant NPM1 suppresses acute myeloid leukemia via reversing KAT7 and p300-mediated histone acetylation
Abstract NPM1 mutation (NPM1c)-driven acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by the sequestration of nuclear proteins and chromatin hijacking. Current treatment strategies targeting NPM1c AML are often indirect, which might lead to toxicity and resistance. In this study, we developed an allele-specific siRNA that selectively silences NPM1c while preserving the function of wild-type NPM1.

Slow-light microring resonators on thin-film lithium tantalate
Thin-film lithium tantalate (TFLT) is considered a key next-generation platform for integrated photonics due to its strong electro-optic effect and low propagation loss. This work demonstrates for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, the design and fabrication of a photonic crystal ring resonator (PhCR) along with its electro-optic modulator on TFLT.
Lactic acid promotes metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma by enhancing CPT1A lactylation
Abstract Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), the most prevalent thyroid malignancy, exhibits aggressive behavior in subsets with metastasis. Despite advances in risk stratification, biomarkers predicting metastatic potential remain limited. Here, we identify lactate as a critical driver of PTC metastasis through lactylation of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 A (CPT1A), the rate-limiting enzyme in fatty acid β-oxidation (FAO).

HDCGAN-Based UAV Remote Sensing Image Enhancement and Evaluation Method with WPID
Submitted: 02 February 2026 You are already at the latest version Remote sensing images acquired by UAVs under nighttime or low-light conditions suffer from insufficient illumination, leading to degraded image quality, detail loss, and noise, which restrict their application in public security and disaster emergency scenarios. Although existing machine learning-based enhancement methods can recover part of the missing information, they often cause color distortion and texture inconsistency.

A UAV Thermal Infrared Image Super‐Resolution Method Based on Diffusion Models and Visible Image Texture Transfer
Submitted: 23 December 2025 You are already at the latest version Due to hardware limitations of Thermal Infrared (TIR) cameras, TIR images captured by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) suffer from Low Resolution (LR) and blurred textures. Improving the spatial resolution of TIR images is of great significance for subsequent applications. Existing image Super-Resolution (SR) methods rely on High-Resolution (HR) ground truth for supervised training, resulting in poor general-ization ability.

Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent malignancies worldwide, encompassing a wide spectrum of subtypes and therapeutic challenges. While studies utilizing large groups of patients are essential for understanding this disease and its treatment, individual reports of unusual or unrecognized cases can provide valuable insights (1, 2). These unique situations often lead to new research directions and therapies.
High-bandwidth electro-optic modulator on a hybrid silicon-nitride-lithium-tantalate platform
Integrated electro-optic modulators are key components in modern communication networks and various applications, with lithium tantalate currently being one of the most promising crystalline thin-film materials. However, direct etching of thin-film lithium tantalate (TFLT) presents challenges, particularly in achieving vertical sidewalls. In contrast, the silicon nitride (SiN) etching process has seen substantial advancements, enabling more precise vertical etching.
Attribute-based object grounding and robot grasp detection with spatial reasoning
Enabling robots to grasp objects specified through natural language is essential for effective human–robot interaction, yet it remains a significant challenge. Existing approaches often struggle with open–form language expressions and typically assume unambiguous target objects without duplicates. Moreover, they frequently rely on costly, dense pixel–wise annotations for both object grounding and grasp configuration.
Up-recycling of waste wood into value-added room temperature phosphorescent materials - Nature Communications
Abstract Up-recycling waste wood as a source for producing materials is crucial for sustainability. Here, we discovered that in situ thermal curing of melamine-formaldehyde resin (MF) with natural wood enhanced its room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) performance. This enhancement is due to the interaction of MF with the components in wood during the in situ thermal curing process, both covalently and non-covalently, promoting RTP emission of holocellulose and lignin in natural wood.

Modeling uncertainty in 3D gaussian splatting through continuous semantic splatting
In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for probabilistically updating and rasterizing semantic maps within 3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS). Although previous methods have introduced algorithms which learn to rasterize features in 3D-GS for enhanced scene understanding, 3D-GS can fail without warning which presents a challenge for safety-critical robotic applications.
