CROSS: A cross-species chromosome substitution platform for dissecting chromosome architecture and activity
Abstract The functional integrity of a mammalian chromosome depends on its long-term co-evolution with species-specific nuclear environment. How chromosomes co-adapt with their native environment to define 3D architecture and transcription remains unclear, largely due to a lack of experimental models that dissect this co-evolution. Here, we report cross-species chromosome substitution (CROSS), a method enabling stable, scarless replacement of host chromosomes with divergent orthologs.

Transforming heterogeneity into a structural advantage: multiscale synergistic mechanisms for converting full-component sludge hydrolysate into biopolymer films
Abstract The heterogeneous composition of sludge is often regarded as a barrier to high-value resource recovery. We propose a hydrolysis–self-assembly route that directly combines full-component sludge hydrothermal supernatant (SHS) with methylcellulose (MC) to fabricate mechanically reinforced composite films, converting compositional complexity into a multiscale structural advantage. The optimized SHS/MC film achieved a tensile strength of 20.21 MPa and an elongation at break of 151.13%.

However, in clinical practice, there are various therapies, and there is no clear optimal plan yet.
The effect of weight-loss surgery in patients with obesity on adipose tissue mesenchymal stem cells versus circulating endothelial progenitor cells
Abstract Obesity imposes dysfunction of the endogenous cellular reparative system, which may manifest as impaired adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (AT-MSCs) function or altered characteristics of circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). However, whether both systems are abnormal in patients with obesity remains unclear. We hypothesized that human obesity induces impairment of MSCs and EPCs that would be reversed after weight-loss surgery (WLS).
Spliceosomal component SNRPE drives cell proliferation by regulating CTP synthase 1 mRNA splicing in ovarian cancer
Abstract Sustained proliferation is a hallmark of tumor cells. Cancer-associated alternative splicing (AS) events can provide proliferative advantages in tumors, suggesting that identifying aberrant RNA splicing events linked to proliferation in ovarian cancer (OC) may reveal novel therapeutic targets. In this study, we found that small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptide E (SNRPE) was overexpressed in OC, particularly in the proliferative subtype, and indicated worse clinical prognosis.
SNRPD2-mediated regulation of DDX39B splicing promotes endometrial cancer progression by suppressing the activation of CTSC cryptic exons - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Recent studies have reported the overexpression of Sm proteins in several cancers, suggesting their potential as therapeutic targets; however, the specific Sm family members involved in endometrial cancer and their mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we show that the Sm protein SNRPD2 is markedly upregulated in both fresh-frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) endometrial cancer specimens and that its overexpression correlates with poorer clinical outcomes.
