Mine ecological assessment and prediction based on RSEI and a multi-neural-network framework
Abstract The Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) maps ecological quality by integrating greenness, wetness, dryness, and heat. However, because it is calculated from observations acquired at the target date, the RSEI is retrospective: it identifies ecological change after it occurs but does not itself forecast the next period.
High-quality haplotype-resolved genome assemblies of two phenotypically divergent strains of Lepista sordida (Basidiomycota) , Hua8 and L-2
Abstract We report high-quality, haplotype-resolved diploid genome assemblies for two phenotypically divergent Lepista sordida strains, Hua8 and L-2. Using the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 and PacBio HiFi sequencing, we assembled two haplotypes per strain. Hua8 haplotypes measure ~49.06 Mb and ~44.33 Mb (total ~93.39 Mb), and L-2 haplotypes measure ~57.03 Mb and ~47.93 Mb (total ~104.97 Mb). Each assembly consists of 24 scaffolds with high continuity, exhibiting multi-megabase N50 values.
Clasping folds enable superior elastic strength of graphene films
Abstract Two-dimensional graphene sheets show strong potential for use in fabrication of macroscopic films, as they have exceptional mechanical properties owing to their in-plane strength1,2,3,4,5,6. Improvements in the stacking order of flat two-dimensional sheets have led to corresponding improvements in the strength and toughness of such films7,8,9,10,11.

DHHC12 serves as a critical nutrient-responsive switch that couples amino acid sensing to insulin secretion
Abstract Protein palmitoylation covalently attaches the energy metabolite palmitate to target proteins, yet how it is regulated by nutrient status remains elusive. Here, we identify the palmitoyltransferase DHHC12 as a critical nutrient-responsive switch, coupling amino acid availability to insulin secretion.

Controlled Presodiation of Sodium-Ion Cathode via Electron Cloud Engineering
Chemical presodiation offers a promising pathway to compensate sodium deficiency in cathode and anode materials, thereby enhancing the usable energy density of sodium-ion batteries. This approach is particularly critical for P2- and tunnel-type cathodes, such as Na0.44MnO2, where the as-synthesized materials typically exhibit a 50%–60% sodium deficiency.

Spatiotemporal Dynamics and Hydrological Controls of Dissolved Organic Carbon Export From the Dongting Lake Basin
1 Introduction Rivers connect terrestrial and aquatic carbon pools by transporting and transforming carbon across regional and global scales (Regnier et al. 2022; Battin et al. 2023). Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is a critical component of hydrologically driven carbon export, often constituting more than half of the total organic carbon flux in rivers (Dai et al. 2012; Li et al. 2017). It plays an important role in watershed-scale carbon cycling and aquatic biogeochemical processes (McNicol et al.

CRISPR/Cas9 screening revealed BIRC6-AS1 /BIRC6 mediates abiraterone resistance via NHEJ pathway-dependent A20 degradation in prostate cancer
Abstract Abiraterone acetate is a standard-of-care therapy for prostate cancer (PCa). However, resistance frequently emerges, often characterized by the progression to AR-independent phenotypes. Employing a genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 library screening strategy, we identified 523 long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and 2,183 protein-coding genes as potential candidates associated with abiraterone resistance.

1 Introduction Soft drinks, defined as natural or formulated beverages with an alcohol content below 0.5% by mass, encompass a diverse array of products, including carbonated beverages, fruit juices, tea-based drinks, and dairy beverages. They are valued for their thirst-quenching properties and pleasant sensory profiles and play a significant role in the global economy and daily dietary habits.
Enhancing protein structure prediction accuracy by prioritizing important residues using protein language models
Abstract Accurate prediction of protein tertiary structures from amino acid sequences remains a fundamental challenge in computational biology. Although AlphaFold2 represents a major advance, systematic discrepancies persist between its predictions and experimentally determined structures. Given that individual residues contribute differentially to protein function, we hypothesize that incorporating residue-specific importance metrics improves prediction accuracy.

Abstract Deep fractured carbonate reservoirs are promising geothermal resources, but their production performance is controlled by coupled fluid flow, heat transfer, stress evolution, fracture-aperture change, and water-rock reactions. This study develops a field-informed thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) model to investigate heat extraction and operational scenarios in the Gaoyuzhuang carbonate reservoir, using Well D22 in the Xiongan New Area as a representative case.
The protective role of memory suppression in psychological resilience among young adults with childhood trauma
Abstract The mechanisms underlying psychological resilience following childhood trauma remain unclear. This study investigated whether memory suppression—the ability to inhibit unwanted memories voluntarily—serves as a key mechanism promoting resilience, and examined its neural correlates. An online survey of 2914 students assessed childhood trauma, resilience, and memory suppression ability, revealing that suppression ability significantly mediated the trauma-resilience relationship.

MHENet: a multimodal hybrid enhancement network for accurate classification of unsound maize kernels
Abstract Accurate classification of unsound maize kernels is critical for grain quality detection and grading. Single red-green-blue (RGB) images are incapable of effectively capturing variations in the internal chemical components of maize kernels, which easily causes category confusion. Meanwhile, hyperspectral images (HSI) lacks the spatial structural information and exhibits the limited discriminative ability when used independently.

Electrochemical selective oxygen transfer enables energy-efficient environmental deoxygenation
Abstract Deep deoxygenation, defined as oxygen level ≤ 1%, is increasingly pursued to suppress oxidation-driven spoilage and side reactions in applications such as food preservation, yet industrial practice still relies on nitrogen purging enabled by pressure swing adsorption. Because oxygen removal by dilution and displacement depends on maintaining a nitrogen–oxygen concentration gradient, this approach requires substantial nitrogen throughput and high power input.

Prognostic tools specific to patients with RCC undergoing surgical resection of BM are lacking, and current models do not incorporate advanced machine learning (ML) approaches. This study aimed to develop and validate an ML-based model to predict overall survival (OS) after BM resection in RCC.
EasySCP unveils extensive liver zonation at single-cell proteomics resolution
Abstract The broader application of single-cell proteomics (SCP) in biology has been limited by complex workflows and reliance on specialized instrumentation. Here we present EasySCP, a high-throughput method that integrates FACS-based single-cell sorting, an all-in-one, single-step digestion process in 384-well plates, and sensitive mass spectrometry. EasySCP identifies nearly 5000 proteins from individual HEK293 cell.
Polar nano-regions enable large spin Hall conductivity in metallic PtCoO 2

Abstract Spin-source materials for spintronic devices are required to convert charge currents into spin currents efficiently and maintain minimal electrical losses. However, conventional strategies to enhance charge–spin conversion often come at the cost of increasing ohmic dissipation. Here we demonstrate that introducing polar lattice distortions into a highly conductive metal can overcome this trade-off.

Organic phosphorus mediates the preservation of peat carbon by woody plants during water-table decline
Abstract Peatlands store large amounts of carbon but are vulnerable to vegetation and hydrological changes. The mechanisms by which lower groundwater drives woody plant expansion and affects carbon stock remain unclear. Here we combine long-term drainage, fertilization, and pot experiments in a northern peatland to identify processes linking hydrology, nutrients, and vegetation.
