Giant step-boundary-triggered nonlocal modulation of magnetization reversal in multi-stepped van der Waals ferromagnet Fe 3 GaTe 2
Abstract Control of magnetization reversal is crucial for spintronic memory and logic devices. Previous studies on two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) magnets have largely treated magnetic regions in isolation, leaving the roles of step boundaries comparatively unexplored. Here, we investigate step-boundary-triggered nonlocal modulation of magnetization reversal in multi-stepped Fe3GaTe2 using Kerr microscopy, Lorentz transmission electron microscopy, and micromagnetic simulations.
Ecological memory of prolonged plasmid persistence after transient antibiotic exposure
Abstract Plasmids play critical roles in spreading and maintaining antimicrobial resistance (AMR). They often exhibit prolonged persistence after antibiotic treatment, even when they impose a substantial burden on their hosts. This persistence has been primarily attributed to rapid horizontal transfer or low plasmid cost. However, these mechanisms cannot account for the slow decay of burdensome plasmids with poor mobility.
