PICKLES: Covariance-Preconditioned Kinetic Langevin Ensemble Sampler
We propose a covariance-preconditioned kinetic Langevin ensemble sampler named PICKLES. This is a kinetic analogue of the affine invariant interacting Langevin dynamics (ALDI). PICKLES uses a rectangular covariance square root as a preconditioner to avoid computing matrix inverses or square roots, leading to position and momentum variables of different dimensions.
Botune: an AI-supported scaffolding system for children’s drawing-based narrative expression in nature learning
Abstract Nature exploration fosters children’s cognitive development and environmental awareness; however, kindergarten curricula are often constrained by limited resources and repetitive interaction, leaving children’s observations only weakly integrated into structured understanding and expression. We present Botune, an AI-supported creative-expression tool for kindergarten planting activities that integrates plant observation, drawing, spoken narration, and animation-based sharing.

We study whether the classical momentum-based acceleration that improves the condition-number dependence of gradient descent from $κ$ to $\sqrtκ$ for strongly convex, smooth objectives extends to Gaussian variational inference (GVI) for strongly log-concave, log-smooth target distributions. With exact Gaussian expectations, a convex composite formulation of GVI yields the classical accelerated $\sqrtκ$ convergence rate.

A longitudinal Health Atlas of age-associated multisystem physiology from population health examinations in China
Abstract Routine health examinations capture longitudinal physiology but are seldom used to characterize aging. We constructed a Health Atlas from 94,055,326 observations of 99 biomarkers in 189,095 participants from Zhejiang, organized into ten prespecified domains. Biomarkers and domains followed heterogeneous age trajectories, with predefined deviation thresholds crossed at sex-specific ages.
Paeoniflorin inhibited macrophage polarization via glycolysis pathway to protect against sepsis-induced intestinal injury
Abstract Sepsis is when the immune reaction to infection results in damage to life-threatening organs. Paeoniflorin is clearly anti-inflammatory. However, whether this compound would have protective effects on the intestine in sepsis by targeting macrophage glycolysis remains unclear. Male C57BL/6 mice were subjected to cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) surgery to induce sepsis. Injections of Paeoniflorin (20 or 40 mg/kg) into the peritoneum were made 6 h afterward.
Defect passivation and optical management of triple-junction solar cells
|
Abstract Perovskite/perovskite/silicon-based triple-junction solar cells are a promising low-cost route to surpass the Shockley–Queisser efficiency limit of single-junction photovoltaics, but their performance is constrained by non-radiative losses in wide-bandgap perovskites and sub-optimal light management across the multilayer stack1-3. Here, we introduce a passivating molecule, 4F-POEABr, which strongly suppresses surface-defect-mediated recombination of WBG perovskite films.

Despite growing interest in LLMs for TCM education, systematic evaluations of their performance remain limited.
Variable NAA concentrations regulate efficient somatic embryogenesis and plant regeneration mediated by FELBs and RTBs in Allium fistulosum
Abstract Somatic embryogenesis (SE) underpins plant regeneration, genetic transformation and virus-free seedling propagation, yet efficient SE systems using root explants remain lacking in Allium fistulosum. Here, we establish and characterize two novel high-efficiency SE pathways mediated by frog egg-like bodies (FELBs) and rhizoid tubers (RTBs) in A. fistulosum, and clarify the regulatory effects of NAA, 2,4-D and TDZ on morphogenesis and plant regeneration.
Pretrained models may fail to capture immunological sequences
Abstract Pretrained models, originally developed for vision and textual data, are not a panacea and may fail to fully represent the complexity of sequences in immunological tasks. In studying pretrained immunological sequence modules of a renowned immunogenicity prediction model, pMTnet, we observe that our carefully designed model removing (ablating) the pretrained T cell receptor (TCR) autoencoder in pMTnet can even improve the prediction accuracy.

High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks
1 Introduction π-Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long-range molecular order are essential for achieving efficient charge transport in organic materials [1, 2]. π-Conjugation enables intramolecular charge transport, increases carrier delocalization, lowers energetic barriers, and allows tuning energy levels. In comparison, π–π stacking enables intermolecular charge transport through orbital overlaps between adjacent molecules.
Convergence of Unadjusted Langevin in High Dimensions: Delocalization of Bias
The unadjusted Langevin algorithm is commonly used to sample probability distributions in extremely high-dimensional settings. However, existing analyses of the algorithm for strongly log-concave distributions suggest that, as the dimension d $d$ of the problem increases, the number of iterations required to ensure convergence within a desired error in the W 2 $W_2$ metric scales in proportion to d $d$ or d $\sqrt {d}$ .
Population-scale sequencing resolves determinants of persistent EBV DNA - Nature
|
Abstract Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) is an endemic herpesvirus implicated in autoimmunity, cancer and neurological disorders. Although primary infection is often subclinical, persistent EBV infection can drive immune dysregulation and long-term complications. Despite the ubiquity of infection, the determinants of EBV persistence following primary exposure remain poorly understood, although human genetic variation partially contributes to this phenotypic spectrum1,2,3.
