1 Introduction Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), complicate 5%–10% of pregnancies worldwide [1], including chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and preeclampsia superimposed on chronic hypertension [2].
Metastasis enables immunogenicity through migrasome-mediated antigen release
Abstract Antigen release is a critical step in initiating antitumor immune responses, yet its regulation during metastasis is not well understood. Here we show that circulating tumor cells undergoing vascular migration produce migrasomes that serve as a metastasis-specific mechanism of antigen release.
LGR5-positive fibroblasts orchestrate skin mechanoadaptation through JAK1 modulation
Abstract Mechanical adaptation is a fundamental yet poorly understood process in stromal tissue biology. Here, we identify a population of LGR5+ mechanically induced regulatory fibroblasts (LGR5+ MIRFs) in mouse and human dermis, whose induction requires a YAP/AP-1-dependent transcriptional program. LGR5+ MIRFs channel mechanical input toward adaptive tissue remodeling by coordinating extracellular matrix reorganization while restraining inflammation.
LASP1 promotes mesothelioma progression by conferring ferroptosis resistance through STAT3 signaling
|
Abstract Mesothelioma is an insidious malignant tumor originating from mesothelial cells, commonly occurring in the pleura, peritoneum, and pericardium. Due to its insidious nature and non-specific symptoms, it is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, leading to poor prognosis. The aggressive characteristics of mesothelioma, including rapid growth and extensive local invasion, significantly limit the effectiveness of surgical resection, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

Developmental and MAPK-responsive transcription factors regulate distinct malignant cell states and associated genetic dependencies in pancreatic cancer
|
Abstract There is broad consensus that the malignant epithelial cells of human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) comprise multiple, molecularly distinct states. Yet precise characterization of how these are regulated—including their mechanistic determinants, dependencies, plasticity and functional properties—remains elusive.

Assessing the Impact of MULLET AI System on Focal Liver Lesion Detection: A Multicenter, Multi-reader, Multi-case Clinical Trial
Abstract Early detection of focal liver lesions is critical for patient outcomes, but current imaging techniques have limitations. This study developed MULLET, an AI system using contrast-enhanced CT, and assessed its performance in assisting radiologists with FLL detection and characterization. A retrospective multicenter, multi-reader, multi-case trial was conducted, in which 10 radiologists independently interpreted 375 patients’ clinical images with and without MULLET assistance.
NEK8 kinase-mediated lactate increase impairs antitumor immunity decreasing radiotherapy sensitivity in colorectal cancer
Abstract Radiotherapy effectively treats colorectal cancer (CRC), but local recurrence remains common and abscopal effects—regression of tumors distant from irradiated sites—are rarely observed even with immune checkpoint inhibitors. Here we show that the protein kinase NEK8, highly expressed in CRC, promotes radioresistance by suppressing anti-tumor immunity. In radiation-resistant tumors, NEK8 phosphorylates lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), driving lactate overproduction.
False: Viral videos falsely claim Israeli nuclear facility attacked

Integrating Local Ecological Knowledge and Fishing Effort Data to Inform Bycatch Management of Threatened Marine Fauna in Small-Scale Fisheries
1 Introduction Fishery bycatch threatens sustainable fishery development and marine biodiversity, particularly for endangered, threatened and protected (hereafter, ETP) species (Gray and Kennelly 2018). ETP species encompass marine megafauna (e.g., marine mammals, sharks, seabirds) and rare small-sized taxa (e.g., seahorses). Predatory ETP species are particularly important in shaping ecosystem function, as they maintain ecosystem stability (Pimiento et al.

Modeling Mosquito Population Suppression Using Beverton-Holt Offspring Survival Probability
In this paper, we develop a mathematical model for mosquito population suppression based on a Beverton–Holt type of offspring survival probability. We focus on the scenarios where sterile mosquitoes are released impulsively and periodically under the condition that the release period is either equal to or greater than the sexually active lifespan of the sterile mosquitoes. For the case where , we rigorously analyze the existence and stability of equilibrium states.
Local bias under natural disasters
Exploiting account-level daily stock holding records of over 24,000 retail investors, we show that local investors increase holdings of local stocks more than the nonlocals' in the case of natural disasters. Additional tests suggest that the effect is likely driven by the local investors' information advantage about the intrinsic value of local stocks, navigating them to the underpriced ones and thus achieving superior stock returns.

Pervasive patterns in the songs of passerine birds resemble human music universals and are linked with production and cognitive mechanisms
Abstract Music is a complex learned behavior that is ubiquitous among humans, and many musical patterns are shared across geography and cultures ("music universals"). Knowing whether these universals are specific to humans or shared with other animals is important to understand how production-related factors (motor biases and constraints) or cognitive factors (learning) contribute to the emergence of these acoustic patterns.

Plant trait-mediated drag forces on seedlings of four tidal marsh pioneer species
1 Introduction Intertidal wetlands are often characterized by the dynamic coexistence of a low-elevation non-vegetated tidal flat and a higher-elevation vegetated marsh (Fagherazzi et al., 2006), which have been identified as alternative stable ecosystem states resulting from positive feedbacks between sediment elevation and vegetation growth (van de Koppel et al., 2005; Marani et al., 2007; Wang and Temmerman, 2013).

Bacterial strategies in prolonged stationary phase: Tradeoff between cell growth, maintenance, and recycling
Abstract In continuous starvation, bacteria will enter an extended stationary phase after the death phase. Growth-advantaged genetic mutations gradually emerge in the long-term stationary phase. The different competition patterns between younger and aged cultures, and the constant density and heterogeneity of living cells in very-aged cultures indicate the complexity of population dynamics under prolonged starvation.
