Efficacy and Limitations of Corneal Confocal Microscopy in Evaluating ATTRv-PN
1 Introduction Triggered by pathogenic mutations in the TTR gene, hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy (ATTRv-PN) presents as a rare, autosomal dominant genetic disorder (Schmidt et al. 2018; Thimm et al. 2023; Jiao et al. 2025), which is characterized by the involvement of peripheral nervous system, central nervous system, heart, eyes, skin, muscle, and kidneys (Adams, Ando et al. 2021). The phenotypic features of ATTRv-PN vary largely from case to case (Jiao et al.
Defining a Disease-Specific Antral Area Threshold for Confirming Empty Stomach in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients
Background/Objectives: Point-of-care ultrasound of the antral cross-sectional area (CSA) assesses perioperative aspiration risk. However, the standard 340mm2 cut-off derived from healthy populations is inappropriate for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients due to disease-induced gastrointestinal alterations. This study aimed to determine a disease-specific CSA cut-off to confirm an empty stomach in CHB patients and identify factors influencing baseline CSA.
Impact of IL-6 and ferritin dynamics on clinical outcomes after anti-CD19 CAR-T cell therapy in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients
Abstract Background: Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and ferritin are routinely monitored during chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy; however, their temporal dynamics and outcome-specific relevance remain inadequately characterized. This study aimed to evaluate the value of IL-6 and ferritin at multiple time points in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) receiving anti-CD19 CAR-T therapy.

Composition in Traditional Chinese Paintings (TCPs) carries spatial, narrative, and cultural-aesthetic meaning. Systematic compositional analysis is therefore important for understanding their visual language and artistic meaning. Traditional compositional analysis is mainly qualitative and interpretation-driven. It supports close reading of individual paintings, but it is difficult to discover, compare, and verify compositional patterns across large painting collections.
LDHA-driven lactate metabolism promotes MDSC activation and immunosuppressive microenvironment in prostate cancer
Abstract Immunotherapy has achieved limited efficacy in prostate cancer (PCa), largely due to its profoundly immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). However, the metabolic mechanisms underpinning this immune resistance remain poorly defined.
Programmable nanomicelles rewire myeloid immunity for durable control of primary and metastatic breast cancer
Abstract Immunosuppressive myeloid cells, including immature dendritic cells (DC) and tumor-promoting macrophages, drive tumor progression and immune evasion. Reprogramming these cells into immune effectors remains challenging. Here, we present a programmable nanomicelle platform that reconfigures myeloid immunity to combat both primary and metastatic breast cancer (BC). The nanomicelles co-deliver photosensitizers (IR825), anti-PD-L1 antibodies, and antagomiR-182 with spatiotemporal precision.

Protectin DX resolves fracture-induced postoperative pain in mice via neuronal signaling and GPR37-activated macrophage efferocytosis
Abstract Protectin DX (PDX) is a member of the superfamily of specialized proresolving mediators and exerts anti-inflammatory actions in animal models; however, its signaling mechanism remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate the analgesic actions of PDX in a mouse model of tibial fracture–induced postoperative pain (fPOP). Intravenous early- and late-phase treatment of PDX (100 ng/mouse) effectively alleviated fPOP.

Immune Cell Deconvolution Reveals Possible Association of γδ T Cells with Poor Survival in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma
1. Introduction Immunotherapies have demonstrated durable survival benefits in a small fraction of patients with recurrent and metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) [1,2]. A major challenge with their widespread utility in HNSCC has been an inability to reliably predict response. One factor contributing to this limitation is an incomplete understanding of the composition and roles of immune cell subtypes in the HNSCC tumor microenvironment (TME) [3,4].

Role of α7nAChR-NMDAR in sevoflurane-induced memory deficits in the developing rat hippocampus
Detrimental effects of volatile anaesthetics, including sevoflurane, on the structure and function of the developing brain have been reported. The internalization of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDARs) contributes to anaesthetic neurotoxicity. Both nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) and NMDAR play a critical role in the development of the nervous system. Moreover, nAChR can interact with NMDAR, and previous studies have demonstrated modulation of NMDAR by nAChR.
PLOS ONE: Perineural Dexmedetomidine as an Adjuvant Reduces the Median Effective Concentration of Lidocaine for Obturator Nerve Blocking: A Double-Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial
Research suggests that the addition of dexmedetomidine to local anesthetics can prolong peripheral nerve blocks; however, it is not known whether dexmedetomidine can reduce the quantity of local anesthetic needed. We hypothesized that adding dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to an obturator nerve block could reduce the median effective concentration of lidocaine.
