Spatial multi-omics of mouse incisor mesenchyme reveals metabolic remodeling during the MSC-to-TAC transition
Abstract The continuously growing mouse incisor provides a useful model for investigating stem cell niche organization and the MSC-to-TAC transition because it contains spatially distinct mesenchymal stem/stromal cell (MSC)-enriched and transit-amplifying cell (TAC)-enriched compartments and abundant TAC populations. However, the metabolic programs associated with MSCs and their transition to TACs within the native tissue environment remain poorly understood.
Nutritional and hematological determinants of immune reconstitution and development of a predictive model among virologically suppressed people living with HIV
Abstract Background: Despite effective viral suppression achieved through antiretroviral therapy (ART), a substantial proportion of people living with HIV (PLWH) fail to achieve adequate immune reconstitution and remain at increased risk of adverse clinical outcomes. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted among PLWH in Hebei Province, China, who received long-term ART and achieved sustained virological suppression.

Serum osteocalcin as a novel biomarker for differentiating growth hormone deficiency from idiopathic short stature
Abstract Background: The differentiation between Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) and Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS) primarily relies on the growth hormone stimulation test (GHST),which is invasive and can cause adverse effects. Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of bone turnover markers in distinguishing GHD from ISS. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, enrolling 76 children aged 3–11 years with short stature (37 in the GHD group and 39 in the ISS group).

Sunscreen Formula of FeO(OH)·H2O/TiO2 With Spectral Selectivity to Enhance Collagen Biosynthesis via Fibroblast Test
3.1 Optimal Sunscreen Formula Filter candidates for the desired sunscreen formula were selected based on transmittance analysis, as depicted in Figure 1. TiO2 and FeO(OH)·H2O are the lead options thanks to their minimal transmittance in the harmful wavelength region (280–550 nm) and enhanced transmittance in the beneficial range (550–750 nm). Fe3O4, on the other hand, was characterized by a uniform transmittance profile throughout the 280–760 nm spectrum.

Multiplex detection of bacterial pathogens by PCR/SERS assay
Multiplex detection of bacterial pathogens by PCR/SERS assay Bacterial infections are the leading cause of death globally. The detection of DNA sequences correlating to causative pathogen has become a vital tool in medical diagnostics. In practice, PCR-based assays for simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens currently rely on probe-based quantitative strategies which require expensive equipment, but with limited sensitivity and multiplexing capabilities.

Mapping and Functional Analysis of QTL for Kernel Number per Row in Tropical and Temperate–Tropical Introgression Lines of Maize (Zea mays L.)
1. Introduction Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the world’s most important food, feed, and industrial crops and plays a major role in ensuring food security, socio-economic development, and alleviating the energy crisis. However, in recent years, corn varieties have experienced homogenization, leading to the erosion of diversity in the country’s corn gene pool. This has resulted in increased susceptibility to diseases and pests and reduced genetic resources for future crop breeding and improvement.

Improving SERS biosensor for the analysis of ovarian cancer-derived small extracellular vesicles Long Ngo, Wei Zhang, Su Su Thae HNIT and Yuling Wang Abstract Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are lipid bilayer vesicles that carry key molecules (e.g., proteins, DNAs, RNAs and lipids) for cell-to-cell communication, being regarded as promising biomarkers for cancer diagnosis.
Inertial Separation of Particles Assisted by Symmetrical Sheath Flows in a Straight Microchannel
Abstract Over the past two decades, inertial microfluidics, which works at an intermediate range of Reynolds number (∼1 < Re < ∼100), has been widely used for particle separation due to its high-throughput and label-free features. This work proposes a novel method for continuous separation of particles by size using inertial microfluidics, with the assistance of symmetrical sheath flows in a straight microchannel.

Redox-responsive drug-inhibitor conjugate encapsulated in DSPE-PEG2k micelles for overcoming multidrug resistance of chemotherapy Penghui Wang, Yuling Wang, Xuellin Xia, Wei Huang and Deyue Yan Abstract Multidrug resistance (MDR) is a major cause of chemotherapy failure in cancer treatment. P-glycoprotein (P-gp) inhibitors are helpful for chemotherapy drugs to overcome tumor MDR effectively.
Theoretical Study on the Structure and Spectral Properties of Several Classical C84 Isomers and Their Newly Synthesized Derivatives
The ground-state electronic/geometrical structures of the three classical isomers Cs(15)-C84, C2(13)-C84, and C2(8)-C84 as well as the corresponding embedded derivatives U@Cs(15)-C84, YCN@C2(13)-C84, and U@C2(8)-C84 have been calculated at the density functional theory (DFT) level. Then, the isomers of C84 were theoretically identified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and near X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy (NEXAFS).
