PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — After 12 years of serving a kaiseki-inspired tasting menu rooted in the Pacific Northwest, Portland chef Ryan Roadhouse has been named a finalist for a James Beard Award. The awards are often likened to the Oscars of the food world. Roadhouse said he was “blown away” by the recognition. “Just, you know, so grateful to [the] James Beard Foundation, but then also our community here...everyone supporting us,” he said.
