Chlorinated VSLSs Surpass HCFCs in CFC-11-Equivalent Emissions for Ozone Layer Depletion in China
Abstract Escalating emissions of chlorinated very short-lived substances (Cl-VSLSs), which remain unregulated under the Montreal Protocol, could delay the recovery of the global ozone layer. In this study, we developed a comprehensive sectoral and regional bottom-up emission inventory of the two most abundant Cl-VSLSs, dichloromethane (CH2Cl2) and chloroform (CHCl3), from 2010 to 2023 in China, alongside projections to 2035.

PVC microplastics facilitate uropathogenic Escherichia coli pathogenicity by enhancing host cell invasion and mitochondrial-dependent pyroptosis
Abstract Microplastics (MPs), ubiquitous environmental pollutants, can enter the human body and exacerbate health risks. Polyvinyl chloride MPs (PVC-MPs) are emerging contaminants of particular concern due to direct clinical exposure pathway. However, the role of PVC-MPs in pathogenic bacterial infections remains poorly understood. Here, we investigate the role of PVC-MPs for the pathogenicity of uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC), the primary causative agent of urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Suppressing gliding in Ni-rich single-crystal cathodes by defect engineering
Keywords Li/Ni anti-site defects shear strength interlayer gliding suppression Ni-rich single-crystal cathodes dopant-free processing oxygen loss inhibition Introduction Ni-rich layered cathode materials such as LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2 (NMC811) have gained popularity because of their high capacity and limited cobalt content.1,2 However, these Ni-rich NMC formulations tend to suffer from an accelerated capacity loss, in particular when used at high cutoff voltages.3,4,5,6 A promising strategy to...
High-risk EBV promotes immune evasion in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by upregulating HLA-DP via the encoded BALF2-HR variant
Abstract Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is prevalent in East and Southeast Asia, with genetic factors playing a significant role in its occurrence. The HLA gene region on chromosome 6 is linked to NPC susceptibility, but the mechanisms remain unclear. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is a well-established cause, with 95% of NPC patients being EBV-positive. Three key variations in the EBV genome (162215_C, 162476_C, 163364_T) in the BALF2 gene are strongly associated with NPC risk.

A long-term gridded dataset of aboveground net primary productivity for global natural grasslands - Scientific Data
Abstract A long-term dataset of aboveground net primary productivity (ANPP) for global natural grasslands is essential for carbon dynamics modeling and sustainable land management. However, existing datasets are limited: they often fail to separate above- and below-ground productivity or reflect only post-disturbance conditions. To address these gaps, we developed a gridded annual ANPP dataset using machine learning, spanning historical (1958–2023) and future (2015–2100) periods.
Neural Heterogeneity Underlying Behavioral Equivalence: A Dynamic Neuro‐Decoding Study of Cognitive and Affective Empathy in Relation to Autism‐Like Traits
1 Introduction Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent social communication impairments and restricted, repetitive behavioral patterns (American Psychiatric Association 2013). This core social dysfunction is widely attributed to deficits in social cognition, particularly difficulties in accurately interpreting the mental states of others (e.g., thoughts, intentions, emotions), which are foundational to social interaction (Dziobek et al.

Quantitative molecular cartography of emergency myelopoiesis reveals conserved modules of hematopoietic activation
Abstract Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC) respond to infections, inflammation, and regenerative challenges using a collection of cellular and molecular mechanisms termed emergency myelopoiesis (EM) pathways. However, it remains unclear how various EM inducers regulate HSPCs using shared or distinct molecular mechanisms.
LncRNA ENSSSCG00000035331 Alleviates Hippocampal Neuronal Ferroptosis and Brain Injury Following Porcine Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation by Regulating the miR‐let7a/GPX4 Axis
1 Introduction Cardiac arrest (CA) survivors frequently suffer from severe brain injury after restoring spontaneous circulation from cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) [1]. Post-resuscitation brain injury has become the primary cause of mortality and morbidity at the stage of post-resuscitation care in CA victims [2]. Although therapeutic hypothermia is always recommended to alleviate post-resuscitation brain injury in clinical guidelines; however, its therapeutic efficacy is limited [3, 4].

Engineered Macrophage Membrane‐Coated S100A9‐siRNA for Ameliorating Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury
1 Introduction Cardiovascular diseases, especially myocardial infarction, and their related complications remain the leading causes of death worldwide. Although reperfusion is the most logical strategy to prevent the progression of evolving myocardial necrosis, there is evidence that reperfusion through revascularization can trigger a series of events, accelerating and prolonging post-ischemic injury.

A Monitoring, Evaluation, and Prediction System for Slight Water Stress in Citrus Seedlings Based on an Improved Multilayer Perceptron Model
1. Introduction According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, citrus fruits are among those most widely consumed globally. The quality of citrus seedling rearing significantly impacts the survival rate of seedlings and the occurrence of diseases and pests [1,2]. To minimize the occurrence of pests and diseases and enhance the overall growth quality of citrus seedlings, it is crucial to promptly address water stress throughout the extended seedling phase, which typically spans 1–2 years.
LoRa Communication Quality Optimization on Agriculture Based on the PHY Anti-Frame Loss Mechanism

Effects of Glycine Supplementation in Drinking Water on the Growth Performance, Intestinal Development, and Genes Expression in the Jejunum of Chicks
1. Introduction Glycine is the smallest and simplest amino acid that can be synthesized by mammals such as humans, pigs, and mice [1]. However, chicks are unable to produce enough glycine to meet their own needs, thus rendering it a conditionally essential amino acid [2]. Glycine serves as a significant substrate for the synthesis of purines, the neurotransmitter glutathione, and other biomolecules.
