SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Despite there being three active systems in the Atlantic, we are not expecting any local impacts for at least the next week. Cristobal has weakened into a tropical depression and is expected to dissipate tonight west of the Azores as it enters cooler water. We are also watching two areas of interest closer to the main development region. Invest 92-L has a high chance (80%) of becoming a tropical depression as it approaches the Lesser Antilles.

First Alert Weather Day: Extreme heat warning in effect for coastal counties

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - An Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for coastal counties. Heat index values could reach 110 to 115 degrees. A Heat Advisory will be in effect for inland communities from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Heat index values could reach 105 to 110 degrees this afternoon, so be sure to hydrate! The heat index is what the temperature “feels like” to the human body when you factor in the thermometer temperatures combined with the relative humidity.
