SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to stay sober behind the wheel this Fourth of July holiday weekend. Troopers will be out in force all weekend watching for speeding, seat belt violations, and impaired driving. During last year’s July 4 holiday, the patrol worked 246 crashes resulting in 115 injuries and eight deaths. Troopers also made 114 DWI arrests. The patrol is asking drivers to plan a sober ride, buckle up, and put the phone down before heading out.
