MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The deadline to apply to enroll in the National EMS Academy EMT Training with a discounted tuition is July 12, 2026. The next 12-week hybrid EMT course will begin in both the Monroe and Alexandria campus locations on Monday, July 13, 2026. Acadian Ambulance Service has announced this session is offered at a discounted tuition of $400. The National EMS Academy is the primary training ground for Acadian Ambulance.

More than $2 million is available for Arkansas Forest Landowners

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Arkansas forest landowners can now apply for a piece of the $2 million the Arkansas Department of Agriculture set aside to fight the southern pine beetle and to replant Arkansas hardwoods. The department will accept applications for the cost-share program through August 14, 2026. The Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Program assists landowners with thinning overstocked pine stands to reduce the risk of outbreaks.
