Dan Whisenhunt’s Biography
Dan Whisenhunt grew up in Alabama, graduating from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a degree in broadcast journalism. After working at The Anniston Star, he worked at the Chattanooga Times Free Press before moving to Atlanta in 2011 to work at Reporter Newspapers, now known as Rough Draft. He started Decaturish.com in 2013 and sold it to Appen Media Group in 2024. In 2026, he was promoted to executive editor of Appen Media Group, overseeing seven newspapers and three websites.
