Dry, windy weekend follows Phoenix-area heat blast

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Expect dry conditions for the Valley over the next couple of days, with some light, spotty showers in eastern Arizona. Thursday could be the hottest day of the year so far, with highs of 108 to 109 degrees possible. In Phoenix, on average, the first 110-degree day occurs on June 11. The good news is that temperatures will come down a few degrees as we head into the weekend, but it will still be warm. Look for a high of 108 degrees Friday, 106 Saturday and 104 Sunday.

Dry winds for Arizona before triple-digit heat returns

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s been a nice Friday with temperatures in the upper 80s across the Valley, which is below normal for this time in May. The average temperature is 99 degrees for this time of year in May. As the low-pressure system continues to track just to the north of Arizona, this will keep winds elevated throughout the day. A red flag warning remains in effect through 9 p.m. Friday for northeastern Arizona because of the dry, windy conditions.

Phoenix gets rare May cooldown before triple-digit heat roars back

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — How do high temperatures in the 80s sound in Phoenix? We’ll take it! We’re looking at a high of 88 degrees in Phoenix Friday, which is 11 degrees below the average for this time of year. It won’t last long, as we’re tracking a quick warmup into the triple digits by Sunday, then up to 105 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect dry conditions over the next few days. It is going to be very windy Friday in northern and eastern Arizona.
