MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Student loan borrowers could soon see a reduction in interest rates on federal loans. The change will start on July 1. The U.S. Department of Education said they will increase their student loan interest rate reduction from 0.25 percent to 1 percent for federal loan borrowers who are signed up for Auto Pay. Auto Pay allows for payments to be made by automatically withdrawing funds from a designated personal account.
