MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach High School track star now leads the nation in high jump after breaking a state record that stood for more than four decades. Julian Brown, a rising senior, cleared 7 feet 4 inches in April at the Beach Run Invitational. The jump was Brown’s personal best and broke the previous state high school record of 7 feet 1 inch set in 1983.
