It is the flagship television property of locally based Hubbard Broadcasting, which has owned the station since its inception, and is sister to Minneapolis-licensed independent station KSTC-TV (channel 5.2) and radio stations KSTP (1500 AM), KSTP-FM (94.5), and KTMY (107.1 FM). Body discovered during search for missing swimmer near Cannon Falls
The Goodhue Sheriff’s Office said they have located a deceased person following a search for a missing swimmer. At this time, the deceased person has not been identified, and the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name at a later time. At 4:39 p.m. Friday, calls were made to 911 about a man who went under the water while swimming in the Cannon River near Cannon Falls.
10 day strike notice issued by Allina physicians at Unity/Mercy Hospital, strike set for Sept. 14
On Friday a group of over 150 doctors at Unity and Mercy Hospital announced they have filed a 10-day ULP strike notice. Represented by Doctors Counsil-SEIU, the group said they will strike beginning Sept. 14 and continue through Sept. 17. “It is the unanimous opinion of our bargaining team that Allina is not bargaining in ‘good faith’ when they continue to deny sick days to physicians and only come to the table with pay cuts,” Dr. John Wust III said.
Colson Montgomery hits a 2-run homer as the White Sox knock off the Twins 4-1
CHICAGO (AP) — Colson Montgomery hit a two-run homer and Erick Fedde pitched five sparkling innings, helping the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 4-1 on Friday night. Miguel Vargas and Braden Montgomery also went deep for AL Central-leading Chicago, which had lost four of five. Kyle Teel went 0 for 3 in his return to the lineup after being sidelined by a sprained left ankle. Josh Bell homered in the ninth inning for Minnesota. Kody Clemens had three of the Twins’ eight hits.

DNA confirms body found in Mississippi River in 2025 was a missing man
A dead person discovered in the Mississippi River in 2025 has been identified as a missing Minneapolis man. According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, the person has been identified as Ryan Brady Grant, a 24-year-old man who was reported missing in Feb. of 2025. Grant’s body was recovered from the Mississippi River on May 23, 2025, near Harriet Island and the St. Paul Yacht Club. At the time, authorities could not identify him, so Grant’s identity remained unknown for several months.
