Residents of the Helix Apartments are still unable to fully access their apartments after a massive fire tore through their building on Friday. At this time, the extent of damage to the building is still being calculated, but the city says 90 units on the west side of the building have been destroyed, while units on the east side have sustained “light smoke damage.” Those units have been turned back over to the apartment’s management company.

Michael Busch homered, and Miguel Amaya and Pedro Ramirez had two RBIs each to help Chicago win for the third time in four games. Hoerner had an RBI and scored a run. Kody Clemens hit a pair of solo homers for the Twins, whose three-game winning streak came to an end.
Woman found calling for help in the Le Sueur River 12 hours after she was reported missing
The search for a missing woman in Blue Earth County ended Saturday after she was found calling for help in the Le Sueur River over 12 hours after she was last seen. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office said a 50-year-old woman was reported missing Friday at 6:55 p.m., last seen near the Le Sueur River Access about four miles south of Mankato.
Air quality alert issued in parts of Minnesota due to continued wildfire smoke
Wildfire smoke has once again triggered an air quality alert in parts of Minnesota, with multiple regions being placed in “red.” According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), a red air quality alert will be in effect for east central, southeast, south central and northeast Minnesota. It will remain in effect until 2 p.m. Monday, but may be extended if conditions do not improve or worsen.

Wisconsin air quality advisory in effect through Monday
A statewide air quality advisory went into effect Saturday as wildfire smoke is expected to spread across Wisconsin through the weekend. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said the advisory is in effect through Monday at noon. The department said another round of wildfire smoke is expected to move in from the north-northeast on Saturday before settling over the state on Sunday.

US military says 2 troops are dead and 1 is missing after Iran attacks a base in Jordan
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. military on Saturday announced the first U.S. troop deaths due to direct Iranian fire since the opening days of the war, saying two were killed and another was missing in an attack on a base in Jordan. They were killed Friday as the U.S. and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, a statement said. Four other service members who were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals were later discharged.
