Nine people are reported dead, including two children, in a mass shooting in a residential area in Erie, Pa., that took place on Friday night. The shooter suspected of the mass shooting died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police. Two women were found dead in the street, and the other victims were found dead in the home. The gunman then barricaded himself inside as police surrounded the building and ordered him to leave, but more gunshots were heard.

Hurricane Isaias blamed for deaths in Florida, Alabama as flooding and outages persist
Officials confirmed at least two storm-related deaths Saturday after Hurricane Isaias tore through the Florida Panhandle before weakening as it moved inland. In Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff Chip Simmons said a woman died after a tree fell on a home. No further details were immediately released.
