CRISPR/Cas9 screening revealed BIRC6-AS1 /BIRC6 mediates abiraterone resistance via NHEJ pathway-dependent A20 degradation in prostate cancer
Abstract Abiraterone acetate is a standard-of-care therapy for prostate cancer (PCa). However, resistance frequently emerges, often characterized by the progression to AR-independent phenotypes. Employing a genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 library screening strategy, we identified 523 long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and 2,183 protein-coding genes as potential candidates associated with abiraterone resistance.
Coarse-Grained Simulations Rationalize Thermosensitivity and Hydrolytic Degradation of Vinyl Copolymers Obtained by Radical Ring-Opening Polymerization
1 Introduction Vinyl polymers have gained particular attention in biomedical applications [1, 2] such as nanocarriers for drug delivery, tissue engineering, and advanced material design due to their wide range of monomer compositions, synthetic accessibility, and compatibility with controlled polymerization techniques [3-5], enabling easy access to tailor-made functional architectures.

Exceptional 106-month survival in multiply relapsed small cell lung cancer after sequential anlotinib and short-course sintilimab: a case report
Abstract Background: Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is highly aggressive, and durable disease control after multiple treatment lines is uncommon. Anti-angiogenic therapy combined with PD-1 blockade may provide complementary antitumor effects through vascular and immune microenvironment remodeling. Case presentation: We report a 64-year-old never-smoking woman diagnosed with limited-stage SCLC in September 2017.

Carbon starvation facilitates low pH-dependent viral lysogeny and auxiliary metabolic potentials in paddy soils
Abstract Soil organic carbon turnover is regulated by microbes, yet the contribution of soil viruses under contrasting pH remains unclear. Here we recovered viral communities from twelve Chinese paddy fields spanning a broad pH gradient (5.6–8.2) and validated our findings using a global virome dataset, by combining size fractionation and tangential flow filtration to enrich viral particles.

TLL1 knockdown attenuates prostate cancer progression by enhancing antitumor immunity - Oncogene
Abstract Prostate cancer is one of the malignancies affecting men and contributes significantly to their increased mortality rates. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of prostate cancer is important for identifying potential drug targets. Here we showed that metalloproteinase TLL1 was positively associated with prostate cancer aggressiveness.
Uncovering key markers and therapeutic targets for renal fibrosis in diabetic kidney disease through bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing - Journal of Translational Medicine
To investigate the molecular mechanisms of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), we integrated the GSE30529 and GSE104954 datasets, comprising 30 normal renal tubule samples and 17 DKD samples. Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) was applied to detect gene modules of relevance, which cluster genes based on their expression patterns across multiple samples Fig. 2A.

Control of Unconditional Type I Error in Clinical Trials With External Control Borrowing-A Two‐Stage Adaptive Design Perspective
1 Introduction In some rare diseases, there may be difficulties enrolling enough patients to implement full randomization. Instead, some patients in the control group may need to be borrowed from external sources. This is commonly referred to as external control borrowing, or EC borrowing. Consequently, the data will include a randomized treatment arm (T), a randomized current control arm (CC) and the borrowed EC, and the efficacy evaluation compares T with CC+EC.

X-ray irradiation hinders flight ability of Cydia pomonella male moths by energy metabolism dysfunction
Abstract Flight in insects is essential for behaviors such as courtship, foraging, and migration, with energy metabolism serving as its primary energy source. Previous study indicates that X-ray irradiation, even at optimized doses, compromises the flight capacity of male Cydia pomonella moths utilized in sterile insect technique (SIT) programs. However, the underlying mechanisms of this phenomenon have not been fully understood.

Improving the Effectiveness of Sample Size Re‐Estimation: An Operating Characteristic Focused, Hybrid Frequentist‐Bayesian Approach
1 Introduction The objective of a randomized clinical trial is to demonstrate that a new treatment has superior efficacy than a control. In a typical trial design, an assumed effect size, that is, the magnitude of the difference in an efficacy endpoint between the new treatment and the control, is often used to calculate a sample size that provides a target unconditional power for rejecting the null hypothesis of no efficacy.
Mitochondria-localized MBD2c facilitates mtDNA transcription and drug resistance - Nature Chemical Biology
Abstract Mitochondria contain a 16-kb double stranded DNA genome encoding 13 proteins essential for respiration, but the mechanisms regulating transcription and their potential role in cancer remain elusive. Although methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD) proteins are essential for nuclear transcription, their role in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transcription is unknown.

Synthesis of Stretchable Hybrid Copper Films via Nanoconfinement
Synthesis of Stretchable Hybrid Copper Films via Nanoconfinement Flexible ultrathin copper films are desired for use as flexible electromagnetic shielding, smart clothing, and energy storage devices. Unfortunately, the use of plasma treatment leads to substantial damage to the polymer substrates, which is particularly serious for ultrathin films.
Molecular evaluation of Conogethes punctiferalis (Guenee, 1854): Species status and intraspecific divergence
Abstract Species are not only the fundamental unit of taxonomy but also the basic unit of pest management. Insects of Conogethes are important agricultural and forestry pests. However, species boundaries within Conogethes often appear obscure. In the present study, we re-evaluated the species status of Conogethes by applying three species delimitation approaches based on the mitochondrial DNA sequences, with particular emphasis on the yellow peach moth C. punctiferalis (Guenee, 1854).
