(WFSB) - Newly released and redacted video footage shows the final moments of 31-year-old J’Allen Jones, who died in a March 25, 2018 confrontation at the Garner Correctional Institution in Newtown, Connecticut. Jones, diagnosed with schizophrenia, was serving a 10-year sentence for armed robbery at the time. A Hartford judge signed off on the public release of the video Friday, following a years-long legal battle between Jones’ family and the state, over proposed redactions to the video.

Cameras are already approved in 15 towns and cities, but an I-Team investigation raises questions about whether the data used to justify them is accurate. A local researcher says the data doesn’t add up. ROUTE 109: Phil Dutton grew up on Route 109 in Washington, Connecticut. He still lives there, decades later. “You’d be taking your life in your own hands,” says Dutton.

I-Team: Four agencies investigating High Meadow drowning death; day camp has previous violations

GRANBY, Conn. (WFSB) - The High Meadow Daycamp is closed Thursday, after 14 year old Emari Marshall-Woodard drowned on a school field trip. A spokesperson for the Springfield School District, where Emari attended, says what happened is unimaginable, and they are all grieving. As police investigate, the I-Team has learned the State Office of Early Childhood; the Child Advocate and the town’s health district also launched investigations.
