CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A natural gas leak that has closed several lanes of Savannah Highway has been secured. A third-party contractor working in the area struck the natural gas line around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to Dominion Energy spokesperson Paul Fischer. The leak was secured around 3 p.m., but crews are still on-site making final repairs. The closure is, however, still affecting traffic headed toward the peninsula. While outbound lanes have reopened, inbound lanes are still closed.
