PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Gray News) - Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin informed his players he is stepping down, according to reports by ESPN and NFL Network. This comes one day after the Steelers lost in the playoffs 30-6 to the Houston Texans. Tomlin won Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals in 2009, but the team has struggled to find postseason success in recent years. The Steelers never had a losing season under Tomlin during his 19 years as head coach.

Lee Corso to retire from College GameDay

(Gray News) - Lee Corso, a staple on ESPN’s popular pregame show College GameDay, will make his final appearance on the show in the upcoming college football season. Corso, 89, will do one final headgear pick for week one of the college football season on Aug. 30. The tradition of putting on a mascot head to announce the prediction of a marquee matchup of the week dates back to 1996.

College GameDay host Kirk Herbstreit announces death of his dog Ben

(Gray News) - ESPN College GameDay host Kirk Herbstreit has announced the death of his dog Ben after learning he had cancer. “We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Ben’s organs and there was nothing left we could do-we had to let him go,” the college football commentator said on X.
