Inspecting the impact of mindfulness intervention on multilingual learners’ critical thinking and self-efficacy: a mixed-methods study
Critical Thinking (CT) is crucial for students as it enhances their analytical and evaluative abilities, improving their problem-solving and decision-making skills. Self-efficacy significantly affects decision-making and the effort invested in tasks. Mindfulness, a key aspect of Positive Psychology (PP), aids students in developing CT by enabling them to make informed decisions based on evidence. Despite its relevance, mindfulness has been underexplored in foreign language learning.
Research trends in post-ERCP pancreatitis: a dual-database bibliometric analysis
Abstract Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is associated with several adverse events, of which post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) is the most frequent despite established preventive measures. Clinical reviews evaluate risk factors and interventions, but the organization and development of the research field have received less attention. This study examined the development of the literature on PEP incidence, risk stratification, prediction, and prevention.
Osteoclastogenesis with FN1-associated cell differentiation, immune communication, and ECM remodeling in male SAMP6 mice
Abstract Early diagnosis and precise treatment of senile osteoporosis remain challenging. Herein, we apply a multi-omics strategy, integrating scRNA-seq and proteomics in the male 5-month-old senescence-accelerated mouse prone 6 (SAMP6) spontaneous aging model, to study early bone loss.
ADAMTS13 as a thromboinflammatory brake at the vascular-immune interface: from viral immunothrombosis to the tumor microenvironment
Abstract ADAMTS13 is conventionally regarded as the protease whose severe deficiency causes thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). By cleaving shear-unfolded ultra-large and high-molecular-weight von Willebrand factor (VWF), ADAMTS13 limits a platelet- and leukocyte-adhesive vascular scaffold.
Damage evolution mechanism and multiscale characterization of expansive soil under unidirectional freeze-thaw cycles
Abstract In seasonal frozen regions, expansive soil freezes in winter and thaws in spring from the ground surface downward. The temperature fluctuation triggers severe engineering failures, such as continuous landslides and collapses on road embankments. Conventional laboratory studies typically expose samples directly to cold environments, resulting in freezing from all boundaries, which fails to replicate the vertical temperature gradient in nature.
Extreme phenotype-derived machine learning reveals susceptibility and resilience signatures for severe diabetic retinopathy
Abstract Background: The mechanisms underlying why some individuals with diabetes develop severe diabetic retinopathy (DR), whereas others remain free of retinal complications despite long-standing disease, remain incompletely understood. We aimed to identify systemic susceptibility and resilience signatures associated with severe DR using an extreme phenotype-derived machine learning framework.
Dominance shifts between planktonic and attached algae associated with differential phosphorus utilization and microbial processes
Abstract Phosphorus (P) availability is closely associated with algal bloom types, yet filamentous attached algae frequently proliferate in clear waters or low-P systems. To examine associations between algal dominance and microbial P-cycling potential, sediment–periphyton assemblages from a low-P artificial water-diversion canal were incubated for 120 days under three water matrices representing oligotrophic, lake-like, and eutrophic conditions.
PSMD11 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression by reprogramming lipid metabolism via SREBP1/2 and PPAR-γ
Abstract Dysregulation of the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) plays a pivotal role in tumor progression. PSMD11, a non-ATPase regulatory subunit of the 26S proteasome, has been implicated as an oncogenic factor in several cancer types; however, its precise biological function and molecular mechanisms in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain incompletely understood. In this study, we demonstrated that PSMD11 was markedly upregulated in HCC tissues and correlated with poor patient prognosis.
Role of Lewis centres on ethanol dehydrogenation over the Cu-Cr/ γ -Al 2 O 3 system
1 INTRODUCTION Renewable energy sources are a key component of sustainable development, since they can address societal needs with a lower environmental impact than that posed by the use of fossil or nuclear sources.[1, 2] The technology to obtain easy convertible liquid fuels from biomass has substantially matured in the last couple of decades and now bio-sourced methanol, ethanol, and methane gas are widely available, although not in the quantities needed to substantially transform our...
