Intermolecular decoupling of C 60 suppresses interfacial recombination in perovskite solar cells
Abstract Interfacial non-radiative recombination, particularly at the C60 electron-selective contact, remains a major bottleneck limiting the performance of inverted perovskite solar cells. While previous efforts have primarily focused on passivating trap states at the perovskite surface, the underlying mechanism by which fullerene-based electron transport layers induce interfacial recombination has remained unclear.
KCNJ2 gene spontaneous missense mutation in a child with Andersen-Tawil syndrome: a case report
Abstract Background: Andersen-Tawil syndrome (ATS) is a rare disorder featuring ventricular arrhythmias, periodic paralysis, and skeletal anomalies. KCNJ2 mutations account for about 70% of cases. We report a child with a novel KCNJ2 mutation and subclinical hypothyroidism, an association not previously described. Case presentation: A 10-year-old boy presented with episodic limb weakness, palpitations, low-set ears, and bilateral fifth-finger bending.
TNFα-driven epigenetic upregulation of TIGIT creates a targetable vulnerability in tumors
Abstract T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains (TIGIT) is a key inhibitory receptor on cytotoxic lymphocytes, yet the mechanisms governing its context-dependent upregulation in tumors remain poorly defined. Here, we identify tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) signaling as an upstream driver of TIGIT expression.

Patterns of association between carbon sinks and multidimensional human driving factors in China: a hybrid machine learning framework
Abstract Regarding the urgency of carbon neutrality, the necessity to investigate the dynamics of carbon sinks and their human drivers is overwhelming. However, most of existing literature only examines the nexus between carbon sinks and their human drivers by the traditional econometric regressions with predetermined function forms. Such predefined functions may undermine the asymptotical property of estimation and thus yield potentially biased results.
Albuminuria, kidney function, and automatically quantified retinal vascular phenotypes in hospitalized adults with type 2 diabetes
Abstract Objective: To compare albuminuria and creatinine-based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in relation to automatically quantified retinal vascular phenotypes from color fundus photographs in hospitalized adults with type 2 diabetes. Methods: This single-center retrospective study applied clinical, ocular, image-quality, and temporal eligibility criteria. Kidney measurements with a verifiable laboratory-report-to-image interval of no more than 7 days were retained.
Modular assembly of arterial organoids enables rapid blood perfusion to ameliorate ischemic diseases
Abstract Transplantation of vascular cells is a potential strategy for enhancing vascular regeneration in the treatment of ischemic diseases. However, its therapeutic application is limited by poor engraftment and insufficient vascular integration. Here, we develop a scalable methodology for generating suspensible, homogeneous arterial organoids from human induced pluripotent stem cells using a three-dimensional bioreactor system.
Heterogeneous photonic integration of single-crystalline nanomembranes
|
Abstract Despite the growing maturity of silicon (Si) and silicon nitride (SiN) for integrated photonics, a single material platform is unable to meet the diversifying requirements posed for photonic integrated circuits1,2. Essential optical functionalities can be attained by the heterogeneous integration of functional materials into established photonic platforms3,4.

Novel insight into the effects of the metabolites from gut microbiota in both unmedicated depressive adolescents and mice: key roles of indole derivatives-aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling in neurogenesis and microglial homeostasis
Abstract Adolescent depression is undergoing a rapid surge and has become a severe global public health challenge. However, current therapeutic approaches are limited and often accompanied by significant side effects primarily due to the elusive underlying mechanisms. The gut-brain axis has recently gained growing attention for its pivotal roles in neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly the tryptophan (Trp) metabolism by the microbiota.

GSOCS-LULCC: A Global dataset of Soil Organic Carbon Stock dynamics following Land Use and Land Cover Change
|
Abstract The direction and magnitude of soil organic carbon stock (SOCS) changes following land use and land cover change (LULCC) remain highly uncertain, primarily due to a lack of relevant, comprehensive global soil data. Although substantial efforts have established SOCS databases at regional, national, and sub-continental scales, an open-access global database incorporating explicit environmental drivers is urgently needed to better understand the impacts of LULCC on SOCS dynamics.

The role of C-reactive protein to lymphocyte ratio and sleep duration in heart failure: exploring the mechanistic interplay and clinical implications
Abstract Heart failure (HF) is a progressive disease with complex pathogenesis involving inflammation, immune dysfunction, and metabolic abnormalities. Although C-reactive protein (CRP) is an established HF marker, the CRP-to-lymphocyte ratio (CLR) integrates inflammatory and immune responses. Sleep duration is also critical for cardiovascular health, but the joint impact of CLR and sleep on HF remains unclear.
Natural and CRISPR/Cas9 Editing Variations of Dual-uORFs Synergistically Increase the Nutritional Value of Silage Maize Feed

Abstract Solution processing remains the dominant route to high-performance perovskite/silicon tandems, but it remains challenging to simultaneously achieve industrial scalability and long-term reliability.1-3 Thermal evaporation is more industrially viable, yet it has not been successfully demonstrated for large-area perovskite/Si tandems, largely due to the thermal degradation of formamidinium iodide (FAI) during high-temperature evaporation.

Evaluation of different defect-inspection setups for injection molding parts based on the deep learning method
Abstract In the injection molding industry, the shift toward small-batch production has led to a greater variety of products and smaller batch sizes, necessitating frequent mold changes and efficient quality control, which still largely relies on human operators. This study proposes a comprehensive methodology for evaluating and comparing deep learning-based automatic optical inspection (AOI) strategies to detect complex surface defects in injection-molded parts.
Targeting EHMT2 enhances NK cell maturation and antitumor activity
Abstract Natural killer (NK) cells are critical for both innate and adaptive immunity, and their effective regulation holds significant promise for tumor immunotherapy. The terminal maturation of NK cells is closely associated with enhanced effector functions, but the role of epigenetic mechanisms in this process remains incompletely understood. Here, we identify the histone methyltransferase EHMT2 as an epigenetic regulator that restrains NK cell maturation and function.

Large language models exhibit stigmatizing behaviour in contextual judgements of health conditions
Abstract Current fairness evaluations of large language models (LLMs) deployed in healthcare settings largely focus on explicit statements about health-related stigma. Here we show that this may overestimate safety by contrasting explicit stigma-scale scores with contextual judgements in 51 scenarios.

Sequential output generation with large-scale Transformer and diffusion decoders pays a memory cost that grows with sequence length, plus iterative per-step computation. Replacing them with small feed-forward decoders restores efficiency but produces unstructured latent representations that limit closed-loop control: phase-conditioned action generation and cross-step latent carry-over both require a latent geometry with stable basins.
