In comparison to its coastal neighbor, the Grand Canyon State does not experience high levels of earthquake activity. In southern California alone, residents experience about 10,000 earthquakes each year. Because of this ratio, Arizona can be a reliable partner during earthquake response. Planning under the adage of it’s not a question of if, but when the big one may hit, Arizona is taking steps now to be ready for California’s call.

Westport considers getting rid of stop lights - KCTV5

The city will use the next year as a “test period” to see if the signals should be removed. (KCTV5/Charlie Misra) A historic Kansas City neighborhood is getting an upgrade. The city plans to replace traffic signals in Westport to help those who travel through the area. Friday, the traffic signals are set to flash red in all directions. The city is looking to see if this move will allow for a better flow of traffic.

Police led on wild chase after 3 men steal from cars on UMKC cam - KCTV5

Police reportedly found stolen bags from the University of Missouri Kansas City, filled with laptops and other personal items. (KCTV5) Police are looking for a man they believe stole laptops and other items out of cars on the UMKC campus early Thursday morning. KCPD chased a group of three men throughout the city, who were suspected of stealing those items. Police caught two of the men.
