Sequence-encoded hexagonal lattices in multichannel peptide nanofibrils
Abstract Structural complexity in biological matter arises from molecular information that encodes supramolecular assembly across length scales1,2,3. Here we show that minimal nine-residue peptides can encode discrete lateral interaction motifs that direct supramolecular organization. These motifs generate hexagonal pores and hierarchically tile into multichannel nanofibrils with defined topology.
Electrochemical Cobalt/Vanadium Relay Catalysis: Enantioselective Markovnikov Hydrooxygenation of Alkenes
1 Introduction Chiral alcohols and their derivatives constitute a highly valuable class of organic compounds that are ubiquitous in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, and natural products (Figure 1a) [1]. Accordingly, the direct conversion of inexpensive and readily available alkenes into enantiomerically enriched alcohols represents a long-standing objective in synthetic chemistry.

Transforming surgical ward rounds: constructivist pedagogy, structured models, and intelligent technologies
Abstract Surgical ward rounds are central to clinical training but often fail to engage learners as active participants. Traditional apprenticeship models leave teaching unstructured and variable, while clinical pressures compress time available for education.

Metabolic characterization of the tumor microenvironment orchestrates therapeutic strategies and clinical outcomes in pancreatic cancer
Abstract Metabolic reprogramming and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) are hallmark features driving pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) progression. Despite the therapeutic potential of targeting immunometabolism, effective strategies remain scarce in clinical practice, likely due to cell-specific metabolic heterogeneity within PDAC TME.
Spatial and Temporal Study of the Post-Compressed High-Power Laser Pulses for Coherent Extreme Ultraviolet Source Development
You are already at the latest version Post-compression based on self-phase modulation (SPM) is widely used for femtosecond pulse shortening. However, the influence of the driving beam wavefront on different compression schemes remains unexplored. Using a Yb-doped fiber laser (230 fs, 200 kHz), we experimentally compare pulse compression in a hollow-core fiber (HCF) and a multi-pass cell (MPC).
Distinct neural substrates of obsessions and compulsions in adolescent obsessive compulsive disorder
Abstract Adolescent obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is characterized by notable clinical heterogeneity, which may limit treatment precision. Although traditional content-based models have improved symptom characterization, they may overlook key pathophysiological features. A complementary process-based framework that distinguishes between obsessions and compulsions offers a promising alternative, but the neurobiological correlates of these dimensions remain poorly understood.

Visualizing research on the prognosis of papillary thyroid cancer: a bibliometric analysis
Abstract Background: Over the last two decades, the prognosis of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) has attracted increasing research attention, highlighting its vital role in improving patient outcomes. However, despite the multitude of studies, comprehensive bibliometric analyses concentrating specifically on PTC prognosis are still scarce. Methods: Our study involved a bibliometric analysis of 3,430 articles related to PTC prognosis, derived from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database.
Chromosome-level genome assembly of the deep-sea solemyid bivalve Acharax haimaensis - Scientific Data
Abstract Solemyidae, an ancient lineage of protobranch bivalves, are characterized by unique morphology and obligate symbiosis with sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, enabling survival in sulfide-rich sediments. However, limited genomic resources have hindered understanding of their evolutionary history, symbiotic interactions, and environmental adaptation. Here, we report a chromosome-level reference genome of Acharax haimaensis, assembled using PacBio, Illumina, and Hi-C sequencing.

Prognostic value of the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index in sepsis-associated acute kidney injury: a retrospective cohort study
ORIGINAL RESEARCH article Volume 12 - 2025 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fnut.2025.1635568 1 Introduction Sepsis is a severe and systemic response to infection that frequently progresses to multi-organ dysfunction. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is among the most prevalent and devastating complications of sepsis, leading to significantly higher mortality and worse clinical outcomes compared to non-septic AKI cases (1, 2).
Dynamic changes in hemispheric lateralization in major depressive disorder correlate with neurotransmitter and genetic profiles: a DIRECT consortium study | Translational Psychiatry
Abstract Hemispheric lateralization, recognized as a pivotal feature in both the structural and functional organization of the human brain, may undergo alterations in specific psychiatric disorders. However, the time-varying patterns of hemispheric lateralization in individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) and the relationship between these patterns and gene expression profiles remain largely unexplored thus far.

Hit to lead optimization of carbothioate derivatives as novel succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors using a multistep virtual screening approach
Succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHIs) represent one of the most important fungicide subclasses for the chemical control of plant diseases. The identification of novel SDHIs with innovative scaffolds through virtual screening is crucial for pathogenic fungi management and food security. A novel carbothioate hit compound was identified through a hierarchical virtual screening protocol with novel β-ketonitrile fungicidal compound as query structure.

Knowledge-guided diffusion model for 3D ligand-pharmacophore mapping - Nature Communications
Abstract Pharmacophores are abstractions of essential chemical interaction patterns, holding an irreplaceable position in drug discovery. Despite the availability of many pharmacophore tools, the adoption of deep learning for pharmacophore-guided drug discovery remains relatively rare. We herein propose a knowledge-guided diffusion framework for ‘on-the-fly’ 3D ligand-pharmacophore mapping, named DiffPhore.

Oxygen vacancy in Bi2WO6 enables a robust nitrate reduction reaction catalysis
Oxygen vacancy in Bi2WO6 enables a robust nitrate reduction reaction catalysis The Faradaic efficiency is 62.0% at -0.3 V vs. RHE for Bi2WO6, boosted by 1.4- and 1.8-time with relative to Bi2O3 and WO3 in nitrate reduction reaction. In addition, the catalysis occurs on Bi2WO6 following the pathway: *NO3–*NO2–*NO–*NOH–*HNOH–*H2NOH–*NH3, verified by operando Raman spectroscopy associated with theoretical calculation. 3D‐QSAR model‐oriented optimization of Pyrazole β‐Ketonitrile derivatives with diphenyl ether moiety as novel potent succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors
Succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides play important roles in the control of plant fungal diseases. However, they are facing serious challenges from issues with resistance and cross-resistance, primarily attributed to their frequent application and structural similarities. There is an urgent need to design and develop SDHI fungicides with novel structures.

Probing orbits of stellar mass objects deep in galactic nuclei with quasiperiodic eruptions
Quasiperiodic eruptions (QPEs) are intense, repeating, soft x-ray bursts with recurrence times of about a few to ten hours from nearby galactic nuclei. The origin of QPEs is still unclear. In this work, we investigate the extreme mass ratio inspiral (EMRI) + accretion disk model, where the disk is formed from a previous tidal disruption event (TDE).
