Multiple Genetic Shifts at the Crossroads of the Eastern Steppe and Loess Plateau Over 4,000 Years
|
Abstract Ningxia, located at a key crossroads between the Eurasian Steppe and East Asia, was an important corridor for cultural exchange and human migration, yet its genetic history has remained poorly understood. In this study, we sequenced 89 individuals from 23 archeological sites in Ningxia, dating from 4245 to 301 BP. Our findings show that late Neolithic inhabitants of Ningxia possessed ancestral components from the Yellow River, Ancient Northeast Asia, and the Tibetan Plateau.

Chronic dental lighting disrupts blood-retinal barrier homeostasis via vascular and inflammatory pathways - International Journal of Oral Science
Abstract Excessive lighting is integral to dentists’ daily routines but can impair their vision, affecting personal and professional performance. Most studies focus on acute photodamage, neglecting chronic photo-injury from dental lighting and its impact on the blood-retinal barrier homeostasis. An epidemiological survey involving 14,523 individuals showed dentists had 3.6 times higher odds of vision-related issues compared to other occupations (OR = 3.639, 95% CI: 3.064–4.323).

Reconstruction of diploid higher-order human 3D genome interactions from noisy Pore-C data using Dip3D - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology
Abstract Differential high-order chromatin interactions between homologous chromosomes affect many biological processes. Traditional chromatin conformation capture genome analysis methods mainly identify two-way interactions and cannot provide comprehensive haplotype information, especially for low-heterozygosity organisms such as human. Here, we present a pipeline of methods to delineate diploid high-order chromatin interactions from noisy Pore-C outputs.

Distributed Passive Positioning and Sorting Method for Multi-Network Frequency-Hopping Time Division Multiple Access Signals
1. Introduction A frequency-hopping time division multiple access (TDMA) signal is a wireless data broadcast network using the TDMA access method. Members take turns occupying time slots to broadcast messages and receive messages sent by other members when they are not broadcasting. Frequency-hopping TDMA uses anti-jamming measures such as pulse-to-pulse frequency hopping within the time slots; therefore, it has extremely high confidentiality [1,2].

Vertically grown metal nanosheets integrated with atomic-layer-deposited dielectrics for transistors with subnanometre capacitance-equivalent thicknesses | Nature Electronics
Abstract Integrating thin atomic-layer-deposited dielectrics with two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors could be used to fabricate 2D transistors with sub-1 nm capacitance-equivalent thicknesses. However, non-uniform nucleation from atomic-layer deposition on inert surfaces and subsequent high-energy metal evaporation can make atomically thin dielectrics non-insulating.

De novo diploid genome assembly using long noisy reads - Nature Communications
Abstract The high sequencing error rate has impeded the application of long noisy reads for diploid genome assembly. Most existing assemblers failed to generate high-quality phased assemblies using long noisy reads. Here, we present PECAT, a Phased Error Correction and Assembly Tool, for reconstructing diploid genomes from long noisy reads. We design a haplotype-aware error correction method that can retain heterozygote alleles while correcting sequencing errors.

Observation of giant room-temperature anisotropic magnetoresistance in the topological insulator β-Ag2Te - Nature Communications
Abstract Achieving room-temperature high anisotropic magnetoresistance ratios is highly desirable for magnetic sensors with scaled supply voltages and high sensitivities. However, the ratios in heterojunction-free thin films are currently limited to only a few percent at room temperature. Here, we observe a high anisotropic magnetoresistance ratio of −39% and a giant planar Hall effect (520 μΩ⋅cm) at room temperature under 9 T in β-Ag2Te crystals grown by chemical vapor deposition.
