Banana starch nanoparticles exacerbate colitis by impairing intestinal barrier integrity in mice
Abstract The safety of foodborne nanoparticles has attracted significant attention in recent years. Previous studies have shown that banana-derived starch nanoparticles (BSNs) can disrupt intestinal barrier function and induce low-grade colitis in healthy mice. However, the in vivo role of these BSNs in intestinal inflammation remains unclear. Here, we show that oral exposure to BSNs aggravated the condition of the mice with DSS-induced colitis.
Polymer Brush-Mediated Surface-Initiated Polycondensation Enables sp 2 C-COF Thin Films with Controlled Crystallinity and High Photocatalytic Performance
Abstract Sp2-carbon-conjugated covalent organic frameworks (sp2C-COFs) hold exceptional potential as π-conjugated semiconductors for optoelectronics and photocatalysis, yet their thin-film fabrication suffers from irreversible C = C linkages that impede crystallinity and morphology control. Herein, we report a polymer brush-mediated surface-initiated polycondensation (PB-SIP) strategy to synthesize the sp2C-COF films with controlled crystallinity and morphology.
Low-noise low-frequency electric-field measurement using Rydberg-atom-mediated sum-frequency mixing
Low-frequency (LF) electric-field measurements with Rydberg atoms are limited by alkali-induced cell-surface screening and excess laser-intensity noise. Here, we address these limitations using a Cs vapor cell with built-in parallel electrodes, active laser-power stabilization, and a home-built balanced detector to suppress 10 Hz–kHz intensity noise.

Whether adjuvant chemotherapy modifies their impact on long-term survival remains unclear. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the interaction between severe complications and adjuvant chemotherapy after PDAC resection.
Symmetry breaking induces room-temperature interface ferroelectricity in two-dimensional metastable mosaic-like heterostructures
Abstract Metastable structures exhibiting unique properties hold significant potential for electronic applications. However, their inherent tendency to transform into thermodynamically more stable phases presents substantial challenges, as the stabilization of such metastable phases typically necessitates extreme conditions and complex synthesis strategy. Here, we demonstrate the synthesis of a metastable SmO2/Sm2O3 mosaic-like lateral heterostructure using molten eutectic salt.
Altermagnetism in twisted van der Waals homostructures
Abstract Altermagnetism, characterized by compensated antiparallel spin order accompanied by finite spin splitting, bridges the properties of ferromagnets and antiferromagnets and holds promise for next-generation spintronic applications. Theoretical studies suggest that twisting van der Waals layers can induce altermagnetic states by tuning interlayer symmetry, thereby expanding the family of magnetic quantum materials.

Munc13-4 mediates tumor immune evasion by regulating the sorting and secretion of PD-L1 via exosomes - Nature Communications
Abstract Tumor-derived exosomes carry programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), which binds programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) on T cells, suppressing immune responses locally and systemically. However, the mechanisms governing exosomal PD-L1 sorting and secretion remain elusive. Here, we identify Munc13-4 as a crucial regulator of this process.
