Early epilepsy detection from electronic health records with large language models
Abstract Epilepsy and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures often present with similar seizure-like manifestations but require fundamentally different management strategies. Misdiagnosis is common and can lead to prolonged diagnostic delays, unnecessary treatments, and substantial patient morbidity. Although prolonged video-electroencephalography is the diagnostic gold standard, its high cost and limited accessibility hinder timely diagnosis.

We conducted an HCI-centered scoping review of 84 studies examining mental health tasks, stakeholders, interaction paradigms, foundation models, evaluation methods, and outcome measurement.
A Spatial Atlas of Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Reveals Lineage-Specific Vulnerabilities and Immune Architecture
Publication Date 10-1-2026 DOI 10.1158/2159-8290.CD-26-0099 PubMedCentral® Posted Date 5-13-2026 PubMedCentral® Full Text Version Post-print Abstract Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is clinically heterogeneous, and current molecular subtyping does not capture the spatial organization of tumor states and microenvironmental context. In this study, we construct a spatial atlas of MIBC by integrating spatial transcriptomics from 22 tumors with matched bulk RNA and whole-exome sequencing data.
Computer Science > Artificial Intelligence
Predicting cellular responses to genetic perturbations helps prioritize experiments in single-cell genomics, where exhaustive measurement is infeasible. While computational models increasingly predict these responses, three evaluation deficiencies obscure what their scores demonstrate. First, absolute metrics cannot separate target-specific predictions from a shared background response.

We conducted a scoping review of 37 peer-reviewed studies published between January 2022 and June 2025.
High pressure transcranial focused ultrasound stimulation induces parameter-dependent cell-type specific effects
Abstract Transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) is a promising technique that has been shown to have high spatial precision, deep brain penetration, and cell-type specificity. Intracranial electrophysiological recordings can measure neural responses to tFUS with high spatial and temporal resolution, but conventional silicon-based multi-electrode arrays cause vibration artifacts induced by increased tFUS pressure.
ERG preserves endothelial identity to limit atherosclerosis
|
Abstract Endothelial function is a safeguard against atherosclerosis, yet endothelial‑to‑mesenchymal transition (EndMT) can occur at atheroprone sites. How endothelial identity loss contributes to atherogenesis remains unclear. Here we investigated the role of the ETS transcription factor ERG, a key regulator of endothelial identity, in atheroprogression. Inducible endothelial Erg deletion increased plaque burden in hypercholesterolemic mice.

A synaptic mechanism for encoding the learned value of action-derived safety
Abstract Adaptive behavior requires that behaviorally relevant signals gain access to neural circuits guiding action. The thalamus has long been proposed to regulate information flow to cortical and subcortical systems, yet whether it also tracks internally generated goal signals remains unclear. Here, we show that neurons in the paraventricular thalamus (PVT) projecting to the nucleus accumbens (NAc) encode the motivational value of safety during active avoidance.

Transcranial focused ultrasound induces source localizable cortical activation in resting state humans when applied concurrently with transcranial electric stimulation
Abstract The effects of transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) on the human brain are poorly understood. Currently, the field is at odds with whether tFUS is subthreshold modulating the brain’s excitability towards other stimuli, producing suprathreshold neural stimulation on its own, or if it even has a spatially specific non-auditory induced effect.

The Seasonality of the Submesoscale SST Variability Over the Kuroshio‐Oyashio Extension
1 Introduction Ocean submesoscale processes are characterized by horizontal scales of 1–100 km and a timescale of hours to days. They play a crucial role in the oceanic energy cascade, bridging the gap between mesoscale eddies and microscale turbulence (Capet et al., 2008a; McWilliams, 2016).
Frontiers | Electroactive electrospun nanoplatform combined with electrical stimulation modulates anti-inflammatory macrophage polarization for enhanced wound healing
1 Introduction Tissue injury has emerged as one of the major global health challenges, with more than 14 million people suffering from it annually (Martinengo et al., 2019). The repair of tissue represents one of the most intricate biological processes in human life. To restore tissue integrity and homeostasis following an injury, various intracellular and intercellular pathways must be activated and coordinated instantaneously (Gurtner et al., 2008).
Thermal‐Gradient‐Driven Hydrovoltaic Nanogenerators: Opportunities and Challenges for Advanced Energy Conversion
The global energy crisis necessitates innovative approaches to harness ambient low-grade energy. Hydrovoltaic technology, which generates electricity from water- nanomaterial interaction, is promising but limited by low power density and environmental intermittency. While previous reviews have focused on materials and isolated mechanisms, this review pioneers a comprehensive analysis of a strategic solution: the active integration of thermal gradients to govern and enhance hydrovoltaic phenomena.
How to Visualise and Control a ROS 2 Robot Remotely
Background When I was learning ROS a few years ago, I tried to control a mobile robot running the Navigation Stack using RViz. At that time, I installed a remote desktop server on the computer running ROS. The installation was straightforward, but when I tried to launch RViz, it failed to start because 3D acceleration was required. As a result, when developing LGDXRobot2, I explored different approaches to controlling the robot remotely.

Transcranial Focused Ultrasound Modulates Feedforward and Feedback Cortico-Thalamo-Cortical Pathways by Selectively Activating Excitatory Neurons
Abstract Transcranial focused ultrasound stimulation (tFUS) is a promising neuromodulation technique capable of noninvasively modulating focal neuronal activities and neural circuits in both animals and humans. The cell-type selectivity of tFUS within targeted areas such as the somatosensory cortex (S1) during sonication has been shown to be parameter related.
Influence of Wall-Attached Vortices on the Pump Installed in the Suction Pipe of an Open Intake
Practical Applications The open intake is important for affording desired flow condition to the pump to ensure the safe and stable operation of the pump station. While the wall-attached vortices, including floor, backwall, and sidewall vortices, are usually inevitable, it is known that these vortices can affect the pump performance, while the mechanism is unclear.

Antithrombotic coating with sheltered positive charges prevents contact activation by controlling factor XII–biointerface binding - Nature Materials
Abstract Antithrombotic surfaces that prevent coagulation activation without interfering with haemostasis are required for blood-contacting devices. Such materials would restrain device-induced thrombogenesis and decrease the need for anticoagulant use, thereby reducing unwanted bleeding. Here, by optimizing the interactions with coagulation factor XII rather than preventing its surface adsorption, we develop a substrate-independent antithrombotic polymeric coating with sheltered positive charges.
