PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - A 30-year-old Omaha woman is facing DUI homicide charges after the victim in a motorcycle crash died. Charges against Ashley Martinez, 30, of Omaha were upgraded this week to motor-vehicle homicide while under the influence and manslaughter in the death of Kelly Chriswisser, 38, of Omaha as the result of a May 23 crash. Martinez was originally charged with driving under the influence and causing serious bodily injury.

Gretna teacher charged with child abuse

PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - A Gretna teacher facing charges of child abuse was granted bond in Sarpy County Court on Monday morning. Tammy Haberer, 59, of Gretna has been charged with committing intentional child abuse without phyiscal injury, though allegations included physical and mental abuse of a child between August 2025 and March 2026. Tammy Haberer On Monday, her bond was set at $75,000. She was also ordered not to have any contact with the alleged victim.

Wife charged in 76-year-old’s death allegedly told police she was trying to move him to car with rope

(WOWT/Gray News) - The wife of a man who was found dead by a relative earlier this week told authorities she thought her husband was just unconscious after she tried to pull him to the car using a rope. Brenda Bogacz, 71, appeared in court in a wheelchair Friday after her arrest Tuesday. While Brenda Bogacz was able to pull herself around the courtroom with her legs, she was wheeled out by bailiffs at the end of her hearing.
