Hcp1 mediates multinucleated giant cell formation through redirecting arginine metabolism during Burkholderia pseudomallei infection
Building on previous evidence that MNGC formation correlates with prolonged infection duration,23,25 we next sought to investigate the functional role of E-selectin in the formation of MNGC induced by B. pseudomallei. Our results demonstrated that E-selectin was gradually upregulated at 0, 4, 8, and 12 h post-infection (hpi) following B. pseudomallei infection (Figures 2A and 2B). Meanwhile, short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs) were designed to knockdown Sele in RAW264.7 cells (Figures S3A and S3B).

Decoupling cation segregation and volatile loss in formamidinium–caesium metal halide perovskite solar cells under high-temperature operating conditions
Abstract Formamidinium–caesium lead iodide (FAXCs1-XPbI3, 0 < x < 1) perovskites are pivotal for commercialization of perovskite solar cells owing to their superior stability. However, their upper stability limits under combined thermal and light stressors remain poorly understood. Through Arrhenius analysis of hundreds of p–i–n devices, we reveal two distinct degradation regimes: below 106 °C, cation segregation dominates, whereas above 106 °C, FAI loss dominates perovskite decomposition.

Abstract Against the backdrop of increasing global pressures on ecosystem security, elucidating the synergistic evolutionary mechanisms among multidimensional ecosystem functions is critical for enhancing spatial governance and ecological resilience in ecologically fragile regions. Utilizing the Structure-Resilience-Activity-Services (SRAS) framework, this study evaluates the spatiotemporal evolution of ecosystem functions in the Lanzhou-Xining Urban Agglomeration (LXUA) from 2005 to 2020.
Limiting phosphonic acid interlayer-perovskite reactivity to stabilize perovskite solar modules
Editor’s summary A bis(diarylamino)biphenyl-based phosphonic acid (PA) hole acceptor forms strong covalent bonds with the indium tin oxide electrodes that dramatically enhance perovskite solar cell durability. Fei et al. developed these molecules to circumvent the high-temperature instability and reactivity caused by weakly bound PA-based interlayers. Minimodules with an aperture area of more than 20 square centimeters had power conversion efficiencies greater than 22%.

Iodide manipulation using zinc additives for efficient perovskite solar minimodules - Nature Communications
Abstract Interstitial iodides are the most critical type of defects in perovskite solar cells that limits efficiency and stability. They can be generated during solution, film, and device processing, further accelerating degradation. Herein, we find that introducing a small amount of a zinc salt- zinc trifluoromethane sulfonate (Zn(OOSCF3)2) in the perovskite solution can control the iodide defects in resultant perovskites ink and films.
A triple increase in global river basins with water scarcity due to future pollution - Nature Communications
Abstract Water security is at stake today. While climate changes influence water availability, urbanization and agricultural activities have led to increasing water demand as well as pollution, limiting safe water use. We conducted a global assessment of future clean-water scarcity for 2050s by adding the water pollution aspect to the classical water quantity-induced scarcity assessments.

Reply to Comment on “Multi-Scale Modeling of Nutrient Pollution in the Rivers of China”
We thank Wang et al.(1) for their comments on our article. Wang et al.(1) convincingly show in their recent publication that aquaculture is another important source of nutrients in rivers locally, and that this source has been neglected by several studies, including ours. When we developed our model, their publication was not available yet. We agree that aquaculture can be an important source of nutrients in Chinese rivers at the local scale.
