Synergizing Hierarchical Pores and Three-Dimensional Geometry in Diatomite Ceramics for Efficient Solar Evaporation
1 Introduction Freshwater scarcity continues to intensify worldwide and motivates the development of desalination technologies that are both sustainable and energy efficient [1-9]. Solar-driven interfacial evaporation (SIE) offers a promising route because it concentrates solar energy at the air–water interface rather than heating the entire water body, which markedly reduces thermal losses [10-18].
Defect Characterization and Prediction for Femtosecond Laser Drilling of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Based on Image Processing and Machine Learning
1 Introduction Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) has become an indispensable lightweight structural material in aerospace and other fields owing to its outstanding specific strength and stiffness [1-3]. High-quality drilling is a critical process for the assembly and application of CFRP components [4, 5].

Microbiota-Driven microglia reprogramming reverses depressive-like behaviors through Peripheral-to-Central immune crosstalk
Abstract Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a major psychiatric condition associated with neuroimmune dysregulation. Microglia, the principal innate immune cells of the central nervous system, have been implicated in MDD. Nevertheless, the specific subpopulations involved and the mechanisms that govern their responses are still elusive.
Comprehensive single-cell transcriptomic atlas of microglia in Alzheimer’s disease mouse models
Abstract Microglia are central mediators of neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), yet conserved microglial states and activation trajectories across AD mouse models remain incompletely defined. Here, we constructed a comprehensive Mouse Microglia Atlas (MoMicA) to resolve conserved subtypes, delineate dynamic trajectories, and identify key regulators associated with AD pathology.
Intestinal pathogens override hunger-driven decision-making via immune regulation of central serotonin signaling in C. elegans - Nature Communications
Abstract Animals integrate internal states to guide survival-critical decisions, but whether and how intestinal bacteria influence this process by interacting with host metabolic cues remains unclear. Here we show that the intestinal pathogen P. aeruginosa overrides host decision-making in fasted C. elegans by modulating central serotonin (5-HT) signaling.

Potential Impact of Multiple Climate Factors on the High Temperatures Over Eurasian Continent in Summer 2022
ABSTRACT The Eurasian continent, specifically Europe, West Asia, East Asia, and the Russian Far East, experienced anomalously high temperatures during the summer of 2022. The physical drivers of this unusually warm summer are investigated using the dominant empirical orthogonal function (EOF) modes of summer 2-m air temperature over Eurasia for the period 1960–2022. The results indicate that the exceptionally warm conditions were primarily linked to three climatic modes.

N2O and NO evolution influenced by NH3 and HCN from coal pyrolysis
ABSTRACT NH3 and HCN formation mechanisms during coal pyrolysis, as well as N2O and NO formation and inhibition mechanisms influenced by NH3 and HCN, are crucial for N2O and NO synergistic control in CFB. They were revealed by experimental and DFT studies. The results indicate that HCN and NH3 primarily originate from the direct hydrogenation of Coal-N and the secondary pyrolysis of N-containing tar. The concentration of H radicals is a critical determinant of NH3 and HCN yields.

Performance comparison of four exome capture platforms on DNBSEQ-Series high throughput sequencer - BMC Genomics
Although BOKE, IDT, Nad and Twist exome capture platforms did not have identical target regions, they all employed biotinylated DNA baits that were complementary to the target exome. These baits were then employed in the process of hybridization to genomic fragment libraries. A distinctive intrinsic feature of exome capture was its ability to simultaneously interrogate multiple targets that were directly dependent on coding sequences (CDS) targeted by the capture probes.

Enhanced Light‐Thermal Absorption and Conversion Capacity of Diatomite‐Based Polyethylene Glycol Composites Phase Change Materials by Introducing Polydopamine
The application of phase change energy storage techniques effectively addresses energy shortages. By combining photothermal conversion materials with phase change materials, this approach yields composite phase change energy storage materials with superior photothermal conversion performance and high phase change enthalpy. Porous raw diatomite (RD) was used as a substrate to initiate the self-polymerization of dopamine hydrochloride, forming a polydopamine (PDA) layer on the RD surface.
