Hemispheric asymmetry in predicted range shifts of anti-tropical fish under future climate change
Abstract Anti-tropically distributed species have long intrigued biogeographers. However, how they will respond to future climate change remains a key unresolved question, particularly for marine species given an expected hemispheric asymmetry in ocean warming.
Global sea-level rise will create a new biological invasion front
Abstract Climate change is causing a redistribution of life on Earth but also creating new habitats that can result in biological invasions. Despite great efforts focused on predicting range expansions of non-native species under climate change, its induced sea-level rise may open new habitats for the landward expansion of marine non-native species into inundated coastal lands, which remains unexplored.

To address this, we conducted integrative multi-omics analyses of chromatin accessibility, three-dimensional chromosomal architecture, histone modifications, DNA methylation, RNA polymerase II occupancy, and gene expression in Ginkgo, complemented by laboratory experiments.
The miniaturized vacuum system for cold atom sensors based on the technology of passive vacuum
Abstract Over the past decade, the cold atom sensors have transitioned gradually from laboratory-based experiments to practical field applications. The miniaturization is of great importance and needs to be achieved for this transition, especially for the vacuum system for cold atom sensors. Typically, the vacuum system is complicated and usually composed of the vacuum chamber, the optical path for the laser beam, and the magnetic field coils.

Telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of the Dipteran Bactrocera dorsalis from a single individual - Nature Communications
Abstract Dipteran insects include numerous harmful species that cause significant agricultural damage. However, assembly of genomes for species in this order has been difficult due to their small body size, poor conservation of telomere and centromere structures, high levels of heterozygosity, and complex genetic backgrounds.
Cellular and molecular mechanisms of seahorse male pregnancy
Abstract Seahorses and their relatives (syngnathids) show a unique sex role reversal. Their male pregnancy is facilitated by an evolutionary novel organ—the brood pouch that functions analogously to the mammalian uterus and placenta despite originating from entirely different tissues.
Construction of Overexpression Vector for Arabidopsis SOC3 and Its Transient Expression in Nicotiana benthamiana
1. Introduction During the growth and development of plants, they are constantly threatened and challenged by various pathogenic microorganisms. To survive, plants have evolved two levels of immune systems [1]. The first level of immune response is initiated by pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) on the cell surface that recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), known as PAMP-triggered immunity (PTI) [2]. Certain pathogens can overcome PTI through secreting effectors.

1 Introduction The Sterile 20-like serine/threonine kinases MST1 and MST2 (MST1/2) serve as essential core components of the mammalian Hippo signaling pathway, which is a highly conserved kinase cascade that is initiated by the activities of MST1/2,[1, 2] and it plays a pivotal role in orchestrating a diverse array of physiological processes, including cell proliferation,[3, 4] immune system regulation,[5-7] development,[8-11] tissue repair,[12-14] and metabolism.[15, 16] However, aberrant...
Structured light improves the sensitivity of SERF magnetometry via weak measurement
This Letter presents what we believe to be a novel approach to enhance the sensitivity of spin-exchange-relaxation-free (SERF) atomic magnetometry by integrating a structured light combined with weak measurement. This strategy may address the limitations of detecting minute transverse magnetic fields due to low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR). We employ a Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) beam with tunable topological charge to amplify magneto-optical rotation (MOR) signals via weak measurement.

The effect of the Wnt pathway on the osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells in different environments
Alveolar bone defects have always been a common problem in the oral cavity. Maxillofacial trauma and alveolar bone resorption cause bone defects, which make maxillofacial surgery and periodontal treatment difficult. Stem cell therapy has been suggested as a research focus in tissue engineering. However, stem cells are limited in their research and application, and so having a large number of stem cells is very important when prioritizing efficiency.

Pan-genome and phylogenomic analyses highlight Hevea species delineation and rubber trait evolution - Nature Communications
Abstract The para rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is the world’s sole commercial source of natural rubber, a vital industrial raw material. However, the narrow genetic diversity of this crop poses challenges for rubber breeding. Here, we generate high-quality de novo genome assemblies for three H. brasiliensis cultivars, two H. brasiliensis wild accessions, and three other Hevea species (H. nitida, H. pauciflora, and H. benthamiana).
Deep Learning Driven Cell-Type-Specific Embedding for Inference of Single-Cell Co-expression Networks
Abstract The inference of gene co-expression module in specific cell types is important for understanding of cell-type-specific biological processes. We have developed DeepCSCN, an unsupervised deep-learning framework, to infer gene co-expression modules from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. Utilizing a global-to-local network construction approach, DeepCSCN can infer co-expression at the whole sample level and construct cell-type-specific co-expression networks.

U-Net Based Dual-Pooling Segmentation of Bone Metastases in Thoracic SPECT Bone Scintigrams
1. Introduction Bone metastasis is a prevalent complication of malignant tumors, commonly observed in parenchymal tumors such as breast, prostate, and lung cancers, with an incidence ranging from 30% to 75% [1] . During metastasis, tumor cells interact with osteoblasts, osteoclasts and bone stromal cells, potentially leading to pain, fractures, dysfunction, and psychological distress as they disrupt bone tissue, significantly impacting the life of tumor patients [2] .

Light-narrowed parametric resonance magnetometer with the fundamental sensitivity beyond the spin-exchange limit
In the field of biomagnetic measurements, one of the most important recent challenges is to perform measurements in a magnetically unshielded environment. This first requires that atomic magnetometers can operate in a finite magnetic field, and have enough high sensitivity. To meet these requirements, we develop a light-narrowed parametric resonance (LPR) magnetometer.

Direct generation of one-way Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering with a self-phase-locked optical parametric oscillator
Abstract Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering, that is, an intermediate form of quantum correlations with asymmetry in between entanglement and Bell nonlocality, plays an essential role in quantum information processing, such as one-sided device-independent quantum cryptography tasks. Here we theoretically study the direct generation of EPR steering in χ(2) nonlinear optical processes with cascaded crystals in a self-phase-locked optical parametric oscillator.
