Seconds-scale exfoliation of high-quality 2D crystals enabled by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon radical anion-mediated organoalkali intercalation
Abstract Scalable production of high-quality 2D nanosheets remains challenging because existing top-down and bottom-up methods typically face a trade-off between material quality, yield, and cost. Here, we report the seconds-scale (~12 s) production of high-quality 2D crystals via polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon radical anion (PAH•-)-mediated organoalkali intercalation.
Intranasal DNA nanocarrier vaccines with surface-patterned antigens enhance efficacy against respiratory syncytial virus
Abstract Although injectable respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) pre-F vaccines are clinically established, effective intranasal alternatives remain elusive. Geometric and surface antigen display properties are critical for respiratory B cell activation, yet lack strategies for systematic optimization. Here we report a library of DNA nanocarriers with controlled dimensions and sizes, aiming to systemically evaluate the influence of geometric properties on intranasal retention.
Unlocking the Nickel Value of Ultramafic Resources Through Innovative Thermal Treatment Process
Abstract Nickel is a critical metal with broad applications in stainless steel and nickel-based alloys. In recent years, its rapidly growing use in secondary batteries has become particularly important, underscoring its strategic role in enabling low-carbon, green, and sustainable societal development.
A multi-mechanism chaotic evolution approach for 3D path planning of UAVs
Abstract 3D UAV path planning intends to produce safe, feasible, and optimized flight trajectories in complex 3D environments containing multiple obstacles and coupled constraints. Nevertheless, many existing optimization approaches encounter difficulties when dealing with high-dimensional constrained search spaces, since limited population diversity and premature convergence can significantly reduce optimization effectiveness.
Nuclear OXCT1 attenuates histone β-hydroxybutyrylation-mediated MHC-I transcription
|
Abstract Understanding of the metabolic determinants influencing immunotherapy responsiveness remains limited. Here we performed a multiomics analysis of tumor biopsies from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) and revealed that heightened expression of OXCT1, a rate-limiting enzyme in ketone body metabolism, was negatively correlated with ICB efficacy, whereas its metabolic substrate, β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), displayed an opposite effect.

TRIM5 integrates hypoglycemic stress and influenza infection
Abstract The role of glucose restriction in host antiviral defense remains elusive. Here, we investigate the impact of pre-existing hypoglycemia on host susceptibility to influenza infections. We find that mouse models with intermittent hypoglycemia exhibit heightened vulnerability to influenza A virus (IAV) infections at low to moderate exposure levels. This vulnerability is attributed to reduced expression of TRIM5 in the lung subsequent to hypoglycemic stress.

Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F accelerates CD4 + T-cell recovery in ART-treated people living with HIV with incomplete immune reconstitution: a longitudinal cohort study
Abstract Background: Incomplete immune reconstitution (INR) affects 9%–45% of ART-treated people living with HIV (PLWH) and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Chronic immune activation and inflammatory signaling, particularly via the IP-10/CXCL10 pathway, are central to its pathogenesis.

Extrachromosomal DNA in urothelial carcinoma: mechanisms and clinical applications
Abstract Extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA) has emerged as a major driver of genomic instability and rapid tumour evolution in urothelial carcinoma. In urothelial carcinoma, ecDNA amplifies oncogenes, reshapes 3D chromatin interactions, reprogrammes transcription and modulates the tumour–immune interface. Together, these features fuel intratumour heterogeneity, accelerate APOBEC3-associated mutational evolution and contribute to aggressive disease.
Diagnostic performance of biparametric versus multiparametric MRI for prostate cancer: a noninferiority, confirmatory observer study
Abstract Objectives: This study aimed to assess the noninferiority of biparametric MRI (bpMRI) compared to multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) using Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) in diagnosing prostate cancer (PCa). Additionally, we compared diagnostic performance of bpMRI and mpMRI between expert and non-expert readers. Methods: A total of 319 men with abnormal serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) were included in the study and underwent mpMRI examinations.

Abstract Solid-state lithium metal batteries are facing huge challenges under practical working conditions1,2. Even when the ionic conductivity of composite solid-state electrolytes is increased to 1 mS cm−1, it is still difficult to realize long-life cycling of solid-state batteries above a current density of 1 mA cm−2 and an areal capacity of 1 mAh cm−2 (ref. 3).

Redefining closed pores in carbons by solvation structures for enhanced sodium storage - Nature Communications
Abstract Closed pores are widely accepted as the critical structure for hard carbon negative electrodes in sodium-ion batteries. However, the lack of a clear definition and design principle of closed pores leads to the undesirable electrochemical performance of hard carbon negative electrodes. Herein, we reveal how the evolution of pore mouth sizes determines the solvation structure and thereby redefine the closed pores.
Homogeneous polymer-ionic solvate electrolyte with weak dipole-dipole interaction enabling long cycling pouch lithium metal battery - Nature Communications
Abstract Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are considered as promising electrolytes for high-voltage lithium metal batteries. Whereas, the strong dipole-dipole interaction in polymer electrolytes limits the enhancement of the ionic conductivity. Here, we propose the 1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoropropylether (TTE) diluent to significantly regulate the dipole-dipole interaction in polymer-ionic solvate electrolytes (TPISEs).

Stabilizing aluminum metal anode with exchange current regulation
Stabilizing aluminum metal anode with exchange current regulation Aluminum-ion (Al-ion) batteries are up-and-coming batteries for large-scale energy storage due to their low cost. However, the poor cycling stability of the aluminum (Al) metal anode arising from much more severe non-planner deposition than the other metals, especially at high current densities, limits their practical applications.

Towards beneficial transformation of aluminum impurity for cathode material regeneration from spent lithium-ion batteries: In-situ Al doping for high-performance LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05O2
Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely applied in grid energy storage and electric vehicles (EVs) due to their satisfactory energy density and cycling life [1], [2]. Motivated by the recently great popularization of EVs, the demand for LIBs has grown more than ten-fold from 30 GWh in 2011 to 492 GWh in 2021, which is forecasted to reach 2–3.5 TWh by 2030 with a steady ascent [3].
