UAV formation control for multi-target tracking based on an improved multi-agent double soft actor–critic
Abstract In recent years, formation control strategies based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) have shown great potential for coordinating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in multi-target tracking (MTT) tasks. However, in complex, high-dimensional decision-making environments, the value evaluation networks in MADRL are prone to overestimation bias, undermining the stability of policy learning.

Asymptotic properties of estimators in heteroscedastic partially linear EV models with ANA errors
This article addresses the estimation problem associated with heteroscedastic partially linear error-in-variables (EV) models. We establish some strong consistency properties for estimators of both the slope parameter and the nonparametric component based on asymptotic negative association (ANA or , for short) errors when the error variance is known.

Impedance characteristics in iontronic tactile sensors enabling intrinsic temperature-pressure decoupling
Abstract Iontronic tactile sensors intrinsically respond to both thermal and mechanical stimuli and hold promise for skin-like multimodal tactile sensing owing to their sensitive response. However, the decoupling of temperature and pressure remains elusive due to an unclear understanding of the thermal‒mechanical‒coupled impedance characteristics, which hinders accurate pressure measurement under temperature fluctuations and limits the practical use of iontronic tactile sensors.
Navigating polymorph generation and distilled-potential development via entropy-symmetry landscapes for metal plasticity mechanisms
Abstract Artificial intelligence has advanced crystal design, yet unifying crystal structure prediction with thermodynamics-driven structure-property modelling remains challenging owing to divergent methodological foundations. Here we show that an integrated framework called PolymorphGen‑MLPKD, driven by physically meaningful entropy-symmetry landscapes, enables targeted generation of polymorphs and concurrent structure-property modelling.

Breaking the toughness-strength trade-off in polymer nanocomposites via a mechanically interlocked interface
Abstract Polymer nanocomposites face a fundamental challenge in simultaneously enhancing strength and toughness, as current methods often compromise one for the other. To address this issue, we have incorporated mechanically interlocked [2]rotaxane units into the interfacial layer of dynamically cross-linked polymer nanocomposites.
When a spouse starts a business, the other partner pays a hidden price
When an entrepreneur leaves a salaried job to pursue a venture, the conversation nearly always centres on them: the risk they’re taking, the opportunity they’re pursuing and the funding they need. But for every entrepreneur who makes that leap, there’s often a spouse or partner who may not have chosen the startup life but is about to live it anyway. These partners frequently lend savings, absorb extra housework and provide the emotional scaffolding that keeps the venture going.
Astrocytic apelin mediates cortical neuronal function and prevents anxiety-like behaviors in mice
Abstract As a key adipokine that regulates vascular functions, apelin has recently been appreciated for its role in modulating brain functions, including its potential use in treating mental diseases. However, the precise mechanism has not been fully illustrated. Here, we demonstrate that the deprivation of astrocytic apelin in the medial prefrontal cortex led to anxiety-like behaviors in mice, accompanied by defects in neuronal dendritic morphology and neural activity.

Human-induced intensification of sea surface temperature regime shifts threatens global Large Marine Ecosystems
Abstract Global oceans have warmed markedly and will continue to do so. Superimposed on this trend are abrupt, persistent decadal regime shifts between warm and cold phases that alter ocean–atmosphere dynamics and reshape ecosystem composition and function. Despite recognition of the increasing risk of irreversible climate tipping points, the past and future evolution of these decadal warm–cold shifts remains unclear.
Recoding multiple rare codons enables the simultaneous incorporation of up to five distinct noncanonical amino acids
Abstract Expanding the genetic code has revolutionized our ability to study and manipulate biological systems through site-specific incorporation of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs). However, current methods are primarily limited to single-type ncAA incorporation in mammalian cells owing to translation inefficiency. Here we introduce a multi-type rare codon recoding strategy that addresses this limitation.

Abstract Background: Aggressive fibromatosis (AF), also known as desmoid-type fibromatosis, is a rare, locally infiltrative soft-tissue tumor with no metastatic potential but a significant risk of local recurrence. Intra-abdominal AF may encase adjacent organs and vascular structures, occasionally leading to organ dysfunction.
Reverberation lags viewed in hard X-rays from an accreting stellar-mass black hole - Nature Communications
Abstract The X-ray-emitting corona near a black hole (BH) is too small to be directly imaged, but the rapid variability is used to infer the geometry by measuring time lags caused by coronal X-rays reflecting off the disk, known as reverberation lags. Though reverberation lags have previously been detected for some supermassive BHs in active galactic nuclei (AGNs), detecting them from stellar-mass BHs poses much greater challenges due to their size being over a million times smaller.
